Why do horse's lose shoes?Interesting!

To Dr Mark Cauldwell, FWCF, PhD, In kind respectand best regards... A, farrier makes the shoe fit the foot. Proportional respect. Happens upon a distinct mindset of our ability to form metal to the respective hoof. Metal observance and hoof wall anatomy response. A CORRECT 19th century mindset to 21 st century basis. Why shoe horses in the first place??

Because we ask horses to do things that their hooves generally can’t withstand. I.e being ridden, riding on roads, jumping.

Generally to protect the foot from excessive wear and trauma, though shoes are also useful in a remedial capacity.

Some horses are athletes that's why. You don't see football players running around the field barefoot of course not
