Many HSPs - Highly Sensitive Person - live with chronic illness. Why the connection? Because as HSPs and Empaths we SUPPRESS our TRUE SELF and that puts an immense amount STRESS on our bodies. And science has proven that STRESS suppresses the IMMUNE SYSTEM, which means we are more susceptible to chronic diseases. Therefore, HEALING FROM CHRONIC ILLNESS will come from living as who we TRULY ARE than from any other physiological approach such as medical, diet, herbal, supplements, or energy work . Many Highly Sensitive Person also live with chronic illness.

Hey Beautiful! This resonates as profoundly true to me. I would LOVE to hear from you. Are you an HSP AND you live with chronic illness?

You're very welcome. I've been thinking about this connection for quite a while and it's nice to see that others, such as Gabor Maté (@drgabormate9132), are looking into it and talking about it too.

I am a HSP and have lived with chronic pain since I started teaching. I have been teaching for 19 years. I was pain free for 8 years. I was very physically active during this time and helped with my stress. I come from a family that does not show unfavorable emotions; sadness, anger, etc. I don't go to family events anymore because I feel so out of place. I was taught to suppress emotions and teaching has always stressed me out. It makes so much sense that being HSP and chronic illness are connected. Thank you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Discovering I was HSP (around 1998 - Thank you Elaine Aaron) was a light bulb, spot light on me, heart opening, divine connection event. Suddenly, I knew I wasn't alone. Since then, I have been more or less making my way "alone". And now, Spirit has brought you across my path and I am having that same "light bulb, spot light, heart opening, divine connection" wonderful feeling. Thank you.❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇

You are SO welcome Clare 💗 I only read Elaine Aaron less than 3 years ago...better late than ever! And it was exactly that for me "a light bulb, spot light on me, heart opening, divine connection event." My journey has also been alone and this is why I am now making these videos (and wrote my book); so that more of us feel more connected. It changes our attitude and perspective on our lives for the better when know we are not alone and can make some sense of it all. 💗💗💗

Yes from the start physically I had one thing after another - premature birth, lazy eye, double pneumonia at 5 years old, came up positive for latent TB, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis and on and on. And I think after awhile even if my parents loved me to death they got exhausted and was thinking it was me causing trouble again. And with all of the attention that I received I think it made my younger sibling very resentful and jealous.

Having chronic illness makes for very 'interesting' family dynamics and when we're highly sensitive, we turn it around onto ourselves.

@@anniepaquette Well you know what - even with all that I mentioned I still was considered robustly healthy and athletic - I am a 5 foot 9 inch female who was good at sports and I looked very healthy so when that happens to you people think you are just wanting attention!!!! Even when I was "sick" I didn't look sick!!!!

@@community1949 I can relate. People didn't know how sick I was either. I looked like a healthy, vibrant woman. Even with my videos now, I've had a couple comments of people telling I don't even look sick and I'm just complain. Oh well. Let them. They are showing who they are.

Oh yeah….from childhood….tummy issues, anxiety, fear of not being ‘good enough’, fibromyalgia, so much more. You are correct…I agree, for sure. 👍🏼✌🏻🫶💞
