A brilliant video… really enjoyed it ( at speed x2). I’m a scatterbrain who cannot string two sentences together, fast or slow. You do it so brilliantly and to the point. Bravo!

Ah, a fellow 2x person I see! I hope they’ll finally let us go faster now that they allow finer adjustments on speed. As far as medications, I’ve actually come to really appreciate the Finnish approach to medication. They are generally rather reticent to prescribe anything and are very cautious in making sure there is a tangible benefit from the medication that outweighs the side effects. I can easily imagine in your case they are worried about the side effects being worse than the benefits, especially given that most likely you would need to try a few medications before finding one that works. A friend of mine thought suffered from long COVID and got partial disability for neural impairement andbeing tired all the time and barely being able to make it to a store and back before being exhausted, but it turned out they were just side effects from meds he had just started before coming down with Covid. For me they slow down my ADHD, but also my processing speed. They generally aren’t good at expressing this view in Finland as they care much less about patient experience here in Finland, and focus on efficacy instead, compared to what I experienced in the US for example. That said, could always be gender, seeming successful, foreignness, or a combination thereof. Its disgusting how often women’s opinions are discounted, I once asked a female service member what she thought of universal conscription because I was curious about her opinion as a woman who’s served and had to stop two men from answering for her before I could finally hear her opinion. 🤦‍♂️ It’s insanely infuriating as a dude standing by, can’t even imagine how infuriating it would be to happen to me. “You’re going to be a manager one day.” “I don’t really want to be because then I have to deal with people.” That had me laughing so much, cause I get you so much. That said I like them bringing me new problems so I don’t mind it as long as it’s either completely working on their stuff and moving from person to person, or otherwise I’d prefer to be alone. It’s a strange dichotomy, being an ambivert. Is your memory bad in everything or more choosy? I have learned it is common for AuDHDer’s to be forgetful in general but to remember minute detail researched on a special interest years ago, or almost a video style memory of certain events. It’s so funny to see another person similarly stressed about organizing, preparing for a trip, meeting people, while holding a million things in their head. I went through exactly the same thing last week. Doesn’t help at all that the neatness of my space greatly influences my mental wellbeing, while my adhd makes me especially prone to making a mess, and then forgetting about it when the next shiny thing comes along. Interviews sound really cool, and looking forward to seeing all your great ideas from your trip. Best of luck with your upcoming trip and I recommend trying grandparents for a rest from house hunting. Felt weird when I tried it but really helped give me a reset when I felt life was a bit too much. I just hope yours is less talkative than mine as I struggle with sensory overstimulation when spending too long there as my grandmother is built like a radio, speaking non stop from dawn till dusk.

Spending so much time concocting and rehearsing a narrative that explains the way you are just becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. And we all simply lack enough information to draw an adequate conclusion. It's just speculation to satisfy our own egos. I struggle with this, too, and try to avoid it. When I can just say "I don't know, that's just how I am right now" instead of inventing a narrative and constantly analyzing every detail of it, I notice I move much more freely through life.

ADHD, I think Americans take a pill for every ill instead of looking at their diets. Many people improved their health with the keto diet. If your gut is balanced, your brain will be balanced, too. My younger boy is autistic, and if it weren't for his diet (no sugar ever, all gluten-free, he is not on keto), I don't think he'd be able to study at all. Autism is, of course, ADHD on steroids.

Many smart and highly educated people talk very fast. My son is like that (he got a 33 on his ACT at age 15), finished college at 20 with a 4.0 GPA. I do not really take credit for his success because English is not my first language, and I did very little for him other than ensuring he studied. He was studying online at home, homeschooled since birth. Sometimes, my son speaks so fast that I ask him to slow down, lol.

Have you thought about the possibility that available medication might only help to make symptoms less difficult but at the same time has possible negative side effects, which means that one need to weigh these things to decide if using medication would be beneficial.

Mikaela, come to St. Petersburg, let's go for a walk together. I need to improve my English. But I guess we'll have to speak Russian anyway, because you're fluent in it. Or I will come to visit you in Finland when the border is opened. I have a friend there who lives in Helsinki, I'll ask him to take us for a yacht ride.

I had super fast talking American hiking friend. Talking fast is not a problem, but Americans use a lot of movie references. If you don't watch a lot of Hollywood movies, then you don't know what they are talking about.

I see some interesting how the person speaking both langauges equally (english an Russian), type of speech just the same, that whats is means broadcast yourself on many languages
