Small correction: additional proj doesn't affect secondary projectiles. It just gives you additional primary proj which then always "explode" into 3 (or 4 with helm enchant) secondary proj. It's still one of the best single scalars for TS.

Wave 25-26 Simulacrum without like practically any investment except for Bow Lol And I don't even have a Rampage + Tornado Bow. I also don't even have a HH, I do have a Inspired Learning but das it. Got about like 7-10mil dps with a 1.3k eDPS bow. Also got 10 arrows without a +2 arrow bow or a +1 arrow Quiver. So 1 arrow fires 3 additional proj. With helm enchant it gives 4 instead of 3. So you get 40 additional secondary projectiles which those can shotgun & is why Tornado Shot typically remains as one of the best/THEE best bow skill

Cause most people will go from Lightning Arrow, MF with it to farm the currency to either buy Phys to Cold convert TS or this kind of Omni TS. Then you have people like me, who're minimalist who love even just the eDPS version of TS. No one is going to show the process if getting a TS build up & running. We alrrady have plenty of those kinds of videos with Grimro primarily & Fuzzy Duckzy

Ultimately, at the very high end, I think bows are kind of just cracked for PvE because at some point, damage stops mattering entirely (crazy high delve depths notwithstanding, which is its own meta that's basically defined by manabond hierophant and boneshatter juggs, if I'm not mistaken), so once the damage stops mattering, then coverage is the name of the game, and tornado shot, as you demonstrated, has obscene coverage. I'm not sure how that compares to Lightning Arrow, though. Also, FWIW, the "cast tornado on tshot" crucible tree thing can be replicated with CoC tornado in a manaforged setup. I.E. frenzy-manaforged-PCoC-CoC-Tornado-culling strike, but the coc/tornado does take up two links which could be used for a curse setup, blind, hydrosphere, etc.

LA has even better clear, especially due to Vengeant Cascade but does require some aiming and has slightly less damage from the lack of shotgunning effect. The 50% convert to lightning makes it subpar at abusing hatred aura effect.

The only thing I need to mention here is that bow skills do have the one downside that you cannot afk. If you're not shooting, you're not dealing damage which means looting while clearing the map can be a little annoying. Also you usually die if you stop shooting. The stutter step Playstyle is also something you have to get used to a little. Just my 2 cents, I love TS, I just think the caveats should be mentioned

With that much damage, you can comfortably change a support gem from TS with Mirage Archer. That helps with the dying part when you stop shooting.

you are wrong about getting additional secondary projectiles from +proj modifiers. TS explicitly stated, and you can check the poewiki, that modifiers to projectile count only apply to the initial primary arrow. while overall yes you get more secondary proj in virtue of having more primary projectiles, each primary projectile still only shoots out 3 secondary projectiles. this is why the +1 (+2 in standard) secondary projectile helmet enchantment is so good, it helps increase the consistency of the skill on single targets by making it less likely the secondary projectiles will whiff and all miss the enemy (it goes from a larger radial angle between secondary projectiles to a smaller angle as they are shot out equidistant from one another). it's also why bigger enemies tend to take significantly more damage from TS on average, because if aimed correctly it's physically impossible for all secondary projectiles from a given primary projectile to miss, especially with the helmet enchant.

i played this build in sanctum league a lot, it was lots of fun and i always succeeded in sanctums thanks to how much offscreen damage it dealt. Haven't had that "1 resolve run" thing drop even though I racked up 38 challenges in that league so i settled for other hard mode sanctums and still nailed them every time. Stuff like SIM30 was out of reach though, the build is too squishy and SIM's bumrush you with monsters. I did SIM30 deathless with RF Juggernaut. Kosis with a fire resist mod was painful though, if that shit spawned on wave 29 or 30 i just rerolled and opened another SIM.

Even more so when you consider how slow builds were back then xD The only thing that ever came close to mirror tier mapping + bossing would be lightning arrow when it shotguned off ice wall.

The additional projectile enchant allows additional arrows to hit a single enemy, dramatically increasing your DPS. It is always the correct option.

The +1 can be up to 33% more damage by virtue of having a 33% more chance of hitting with each primary projectile, while the 40% increased damage is just that - a flat 40% increase (which is probably just like 5% more damage)

I have some issues with this video - Don't get me wrong, love your content and love to see you playing such a high end build. Ensnaring arrow won't be active on any boss. You have sniper's mark and that prevents it from activating the ensnared debuff (20% increased damage taken on enemy) You got the mechanics wrong on secondary projectiles. They are only scaled by the enchant. At some point you said something like 15 x 15 arrows per shot EDIT: The above line's been corrected. Should've refreshed before posting my comment :P You mention that medium clusters are the best way to scale damage, but that's not actually true at all - they just give a good game feel through a lot of bonus projectile speed. For examples of things that scale better, the elemental mastery 'Hits have 25% chance to treat Enemy Monster Elemental Resistance values as inverted' is 12.4% more dps, and you're 4 points from that. Each medium cluster takes 4 points (The 3 points of value + the socket that you're spending). The 4 points including the pathing to it is 15.2% dps, or around there. Where a medium cluster jewel setup is only something like 10% more dps. If you had optimized large clusters they're usually better per point value than mediums. 4% attack speed + 16% increased damage + 10 omni is really strong, and you can get life there too :D Would love to see you go a bit deeper into the mechanics and grow your understanding. I really like when people explore fully optimized builds and explain them in layman's terms. That split personality setup is inventive, and it's cool to see someone building out a tornado shot build without the massive thread of hope stuff. Thanks for sharing :)

Love the content man. My concern with TS has always been that it requires *significant* investment to feel good and it doesn’t really ramp up from league start. There’s like a breakpoint where it becomes viable and then to continue to scale you increase investment each time by an order of magnitude. Do you think this is still the case in 3.21 and on?

Some folks play it at lower investment but, for me, Lightning Arrow is generally going to be better at the sub-100 divine range due to the power of Vengeant Cascade this league. However, at the very high end TS will always win.

I league started (late) Tornado shot and was running at 400% MS oneshotting T16s by day 2. Just play elemental and precise technique until you got the budget to swap to cold conversion crit.

Elemental tornado shot is so fun, with omni (personally dont like MF so any build with mf is out of my thoughts, since i tried snoobae poison tornado shot, and lightning arrow mf with HH, it feels so awful). If in a league my first character is ranger, 100% when i have enough currency i would go for omni tornado shot, it just feels too good, dont need aiming like lightning arrow/ice shot, although kinda squishy but hey, if you delete them first they cant delete you.

i tried building ts deadeye last patch but couldn't get it to work properly mainly because the bow is a PITA to craft and too expensive to buy. the build only becomes nice to play at around the 50 div mark whereas other builds like RF becomes smooth once you get explode corpses at around the 10 div mark. you may be off screening mobs and whats not but you are still going to die to one shots like eldritch altar meteors etc. its a cool build to play but unlike other low entry level builds, many ppl give up half way with TS because it requires so much investment. its kind of worst than COC FR when it comes to investment.

You don't league start ts, you convert to it once you have a good omni setup. If you try something like lightning arrow before the 50 div mark its gonna be very different :) .There is also way cheaper variant (less effective ofc but perfectly fine). A decent tri element bow for exemple is easy to craft.

It used to be high investment only. When ballista came out that helped a lot but still not enough. Only when they added extra proj on the tree this league in combination with successive power creep over the years does it now feel good at low investment levels. Still not a starter imho, more something you transition to in low maps at most.
