As someone who didn't grow up with the sport talking about closed/open really helped me understand the game a lot more.

This is perfect! Literally just about what I've been waiting to see as a build off of your coverage videos. I like your film study videos a ton, but I think this stuff here is cream of the crop - concepts, defensive coverage explanations, providing NFL experience tips, giving me a great starting point as a coach to better instruct my QBs and Offense. Keep em coming. #patreonsubscriber

Love the video! I know this is the QB SCHOOL but it would be interesting to see a video on Receivers especially since they have such a tight connection with the QB. Talking perhaps about timing and stems or building a connection? how different coverages impact the Receivers and thus the QB? love to hear your thoughts.

I remember teams always playing cover 2 against your old friend Jeff Blake because the Bengals didn’t have a tight end that could win in the seam. Also they had two terrific wideouts that needed safeties over them. Of course it is more complicated than that but that was the first time I became aware of defensive structures in the back end.

Amen...This is exactly how i teach it. Have multi purpose full field concepts that are dictated by the defensive shell. 2 high/1 high/ man beaters and then match up probabilities. Keep preaching Sir.

Hey, I've been enjoying the videos. The content is fantastic for a never-a-player to up their understanding. I have one piece of commentary on the finish though. Some of your videos have my volume at 50%, and other at full. As well produced and regularly posting as you are, it might step up your game to regulate that. For context, play the first few seconds of Joe Burrow pt 3, then Justin Herbert Round 3, then What's the NFL Draft Like For NFL Players?, and finish with this video. Then go back to Joe Burrow pt 3 to revisit your current volume. Now open your channel, which autoplays How's An NFL Game Plan Created. The volume in the first set rises each time, and you'll almost jump out of your chair from the switch from Burrow to NFL Game Plan if your volume was a comfortable level for Burrow. Somewhere in the louder 1/3 of your videos is more typical for KZbin - probably so the ads don't blow your speakers and then leave your video quiet. You're very good at having consistent volume through each video by speaking well and consistent microphone distance, so it's probably an easy adjustment. That also means you're usually good for 10-30 minutes at a time - outside those pesky ad volumes.

Great explanation. Using the still was nice, especially for highlighting which part of the field you want to attack for each look. It seems to me that you attack similar areas vs both closed and quarters coverage. Is it fair to treat them the same? And are there good ways to identify quarters presnap, other than when the D gives a birds on fence look? Great video✌️

How do you call an “open” concept side and a “closed” concept side out of 3x1? Or do you just call route combinations that get receivers in areas advantageous to either on every play, and the quarterback just knows where to look when it’s closed or open?

Can ANYONE help me understand why Jerry Jones would draft a AA scrub like DiNicci over Fromm, Patterson and several other accomplished DI QB's? If Dak holds out or gets hurt, the Cowboys be fucked. They have zero depth at QB and no deal with Dak. Basically they forced themselves to over-pay him.
