As a Roblox developer, I'd like to point out that passion project developers [or development teams] that don't focus on profits are less likely to quit than projects that are focused on money and being a business. There's also another reason why developers quit, that being burnouts.

Another big thing is roblox's updates sometimes completely breaking scripts. Preventing the long-term functionality of roblox games that aren't being constantly updated. This alone completely demotivates me personally which is why I want to learn a proper game engine.

I mean, Preston has to make money somehow, and kids spend lots on his games. Remember, he's spent a long time building his way up. We can't discredit that most of his childhood and life have been in Roblox Studio, so give credit to that.

Developing is not just "free models out of the toolbox" and "scripting", no. you need a good idea for a game, you have competition such as fucking skibidi toilet which has more than thousands of visits, and with playtesting and searching for bugs its gonna become SO DAMN frustrating to the point you cant even keep up with it.

EXACTLY why i moved to be a geomatry dash creator. because when i put hours. PEOPLE ACTUALLY SEE IT. because its not given to you by how popular theres also a place where you can find recent made levels that are rated (the owner saying the level looks good) obviously its not a conflict free community i watched people help new people out in playing the game. roblox would never

as a roblox developer myself, most of what you say is true but the reason most good games die is because they arent worked on hard enough lets take a game called hellmet, reached 10k players as a serious door-breaching helmet cam game and now reaches a stable 2k players most games either dont have replayability, like the game being not long enough and not having any advertising, they reach 50 players so in reality if they were to put actual effort and put alot of content you'd see more wellmade games on roblox but most wellmade games either have no content or no advertising or no updates

The thing with Preston though Is he is a ripped 20 year old millionaire who could care less what the people who made him think, because there will always be an easier generation to manipulate. And it doesn’t matter how much people criticize him because the people who do most likely have already spent money on the update anyway and just want a reason to make a twitter post and jump on the hate train. His mental state has never been better don’t try and convince me it’s not.

The sad thing is that the games with the least amount of effort and are just made for money get popular. There are so many underrated games on roblox that deserve thousands of players playing them daily. If I had to guess the people who make games that have a lot of things for robux only made them for money. But that isn't really wrong since you got to find out some way to make money.

The hard part for me is fixing bugs, I’m pretty sure I’ve given up on multiple games because of bugs, and the Assistant (a Roblox AI that is supposed to help with scripting) is very bad at helping me with debugging. It also has a short-term memory, which means it can’t remember previous interactions or stuff you said a little while ago.

As a Roblox developer for 6 years, Roblox should give new games a chance and also should fix their shitty moderation, especially in a children's game instead of terminating anyone's entire accounts or do whatsoever.

not going to lie this happened to me my most successful game is a doors rp with 14m visits it was a game i really just made cuz i was bored and it ended up blowing up after updating it for about 6 months i quit i stopped working on it FOR 8 MONTHS and then came back, cuz i did end up being a doors fan dev. so atleast this didnt make me leave the developer community. i still work on the game to this day and have even more doors type games on my profile

As a developer, i agree with all these things, but generally there is a lot of hate for developers for no reason. I spend a lot of time making a new game but think that it wont even go anyway and ill just receive hate and bad comments. Although there are a lot of supportive people who like the game. It just annoys developers when they spend so much time just for hate and trying to leak your personal information just because of it.

I can't help but say that I'm not surprised at what ROBLOX eventually came to. As popularity increases, so does the chance of some of the worst personalities appearing in the community, and ROBLOX's focus on kids got it to where we are now. The entire main page is filled with pathetic games that are made to drain money out of the kids who play them. Obviously, there's nothing that can be done about it. Developers need to either become the same or try to push their game out with an online of 100 people, if not less. Situation can be changed by the ROBLOX team itself, but do you think they will do anything if we saw the Toilet Defense thing in The Classic? Good video! 👍

roblox does not contribute a bit to developers When you try to make a union, you get a stupid warning like error -15, error -69. and roblox always crashes and roblox studio is not optimized at all So it's only two parts, it takes too long for me to unionize. and there are hundreds of things that need to come to roblox studio
