Why Do Some Cars Smell Like Crayons?

My BMW e90 smells like a crayon factory especially when the exhaust is hot

Smells like this in my HRV. I can't stand it! Trying to find out where it's coming from and how to get rid of it

I had a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta, which had the smell of what we called burnt crayons. I spent money getting that car ozoned and deodorized. The smell never went away. We got rid of the car because something would break on it every month.

I got that smell in my Mercedes ML320. But it did not bother me really. It was very subtle.

I did an emergency situation driving course, and all their BMWs smelled like this!!!
