Yeah, the idea of ​​Impergium turned out to be not the best concept. Keeping humanity in balance with nature and its laws is quite a logical and correct decision, but the methods were absolutely unacceptable, and the result turned out to be relative and short-lived. I believe that people should have been taught the wisdom of Gaia and directed to the true path, and not ruthlessly destroyed and frightened. Man can exist in harmony with nature. I agree with what you said about humans being in balance, but in terms of staying true to Gaia, the werewolves are the biggest failure. The impergium was bad in ends and means, proving that the Garou couldn't understand their role. Edit: This comment is just directed at your views about the triad. It seems like it's from a garou standpoint, the point of Werewolf is that they don't understand anything

I suppose werewolves didn't believe modern society could coexist with virgin wilds. Considering they were mostly living in the wilds, it's kind of logical they didn't understand the possibilities and just saw cities as a manifestation of the Wyrm. But now, they have no choice, making human consider nature is the only chance for Gaia to survive.

I think even the Wyrm, in their purified form, would have a place in cities in balance with nature. Inevitably parts of the city will decay and need to be destroyed, to make way for something new. The cycle of birth, stability and finally destruction, still exists in cities. There is, of course, also the natural decline and ageing of Humans and other Creatures and their inevitable demise. Again, The Wyrm.

About that... There were fera that were already doing that in the setting, [Apis (wereaurochs)] and the werewolves killed them. City building [in WoD] is direct result of fear, and the Bloodbath known as the war of rage that the Wyrm tralls like the Garou unleashed. Impergium was continuation of the violence the fact that now allegedly humans alone were targeted were just semantics. Except unlike Gaia, the Weaver didn't hesitate to vibe check the rabid dogs.

Congratulations on the lore for the Impergium my friend! In the history of the Garou Nation, there's one werewolf of the Children of Gaia who ended the Impergium is Lorespeaker Gronn. He's a legendary Gaian neither a Theurge or a Philodox and he was also a hermaphrodite which either a male or female.

Back in the day, when I was playing the game, my group had a quote they would say whenever a human succumbed to the Dylerium: "Nah, that's not a werewolf.....its a guy in a dog suit, with rakes on his hands!" This was a quote from some 'So Bad Its Good" horror movie, the name of which I can't recall, but after all these years, that line still makes me chuckle ^_^

Werewolves: we are the tooth and claws of Gaia. Also werewolves: we killed the entire tribe of werebats, started a war between other changing breeds, almost killed the werebears which are kind and most trustworthy of the changing breeds, hunted humans so brutally and so long that the humans fear werewolves so much they go crazy just by looking in their cronos form. Me: are we sure vampires are the bad guys?

Werewolves are just as flawed as any species.and their primary goal is to protect the world, not the creatures in it, especially if thoses creatures are the ones harming the world. But yeah, they are (relatively) the good guys. The big problem is that they are unorganised and don't have any common plan: every tribes do what they think will save Gaia even if it come into confrontation with another Tribe. The Red Talons are the best example, their goal is noble but they want to genocide every humans which is a no-no for many other tribes that have humans relatives. And i also doubt that would be what Gaia wish for too considering humans are as much her children than the changings breeds.

Werewolf fan boys always seem to leave out a very important fact that ended the impergium. The garou didn't stop out of the kindness of their hearts. They stopped because hunters started slaughtering them in return and brought them to heel with their own weaponry. Werewolves had no choice in the matter. About 7: 59 I may remember it wrong, because it is what makes sense to me. Or maybe it changed in new books that I didn't read. As I remember was "generations", many, many generations of humans lived under the Impergium being subjected by 'selection by Garou'. In my mind that had been the major cause of death among humans from early Paleolithic up to the end of Neolithic Period, possibly up to Bronze Age even. That was what would make the game rules somewhat plausible, in my mind. Anything less just makes no sense.

About 7:22. Where this "peaceful" came from? Oh, I am loving the video, I like the channel, don't take it as an "attack". It is not intended as one (and I only mark that point right now because we live in such strange times when most disagreements can be framed as attacks. And a excessive part of them are). But, back to the matter in question: "go back to nature" is not "go back to peaceful way", they are not even sitting in the same room. Gaia is seldom, if ever, "peaceful". It is gorgeous, and primal, vast and generous. Sometimes silent and calm. Not peaceful. The standard way to do things, the right way, is by Natural Selection. That's strong killing weak. Starvation, predator killing prey. "Peace" is NOT a setting argument here. Random variation in the individuals, leads to selection by adaptation to the environment. I may be "wrong", and in the end of day the only "right" understanding to this things is the Golden Rule. Still, as far as I can see, the one thing that has nothing to do with this conversation is "peaceful way". Heathy, Holly, sure. Just not peaceful.

I would suggest the 20th anniversary edition to get started. The Core book will have enough for you for sure. after that it depends on what you want for flavor. changing breeds adds more playable options, book of the wrym adds more baddies and info about pentex. umbra the velvet shadow will talk largely about the umbra and spirits.
