The Delta Marriott hotel near Warwick, once a popular spot for festive gatherings and weddings, has been repurposed by the Home Office to house asylum seekers.
The hotel is one of seven new asylum hotels opened since Labour took office, despite its manifesto pledge to phase out their use. With 133,409 asylum claims awaiting decisions as of September and nearly 100,000 new applications in the past year, the system remains overwhelmed.
Labour restarted claim processing after the previous government stalled it with laws directing illegal arrivals to Rwanda. However, the backlog persists, and the number of asylum seekers in hotels has risen 21% since July to 35,361 across 220 locations nationwide.

The reason is, europe is on the decline. Birthrates are down, and businesses need cheap labour to keep afloat. It is an economically driven short sighted fix to a problem that has been brewing for 30 or so years. Europe doesnt have the 30 years needed to reverse the problem. Yeah that was the basis the NHS was created for, I have worked in the NHS for 25 years and what I see from the inside boils my blood, honestly it’s disgusting what goes on. The NHS as it is now is unsustainable. I will not survive another decade, if even five years. I think it will become privatised and there will only be a very basic service for those who can’t afford to pay for private health insurance. I am now at the stage where I would rather not pay NI off my wages and instead use that money towards private healthcare insurance. I had surgery in January of this year, waiting lists are classed as urgent, semi urgent and routine (the government time to treatment guarantee is 12 weeks - meaning from the day you are referred to hospital you should be receiving treatment no more than 12 weeks from that date) I was on the urgent list for surgery for my problem (12 weeks waiting time is for routine cases), I waited 43 months to get that urgent surgery - almost 4 years!!! People are dying waiting for their 1st appointment at the hospital. I know covid had a huge impact on waiting lists times but I don’t understand what has happened to GP surgeries, nothing has changed for them, they have the exact same amount of time to see patients each day as they did prior to covid. They have the same amount of receptionists to answer calls and phone lines can only be answered one at a time, the same as pre-covid, each surgery has a certain amount of patients registered with them and I don’t think that all those patients are calling every day, so why the need for the 10 minute long message you are forced to listen to any time you call them. I just don’t get it at all.

RTE Ireland's national tv programme interviewed migrants in Dublin when Rywanda scheme was suggested in UK all the migrants interviewed said they came to Ireland as they didn't what to risk being sent to Rywanda & when asked what they would do if returned to UK they said they'd return to Europe & several even said they would try to return to their home country, that suggests their claim that they are at risk in home country must be untrue? As RTE news is tv, that footage can be checked, so proves Rywanda scheme was a deterrent
