You are right about emerging your child’s two cultures as much as possible. Many people are estranged to their other culture and their identity is sorta lost . I believe it’s a positive influence.

Nice video Jay! keep them coming!! I have noticed that Filipinos love pageantry, parades and all kinds of celebrations. They seem to always be happy and smiling! It's infectious, it makes you happy to be there with them. I'm just like you. I always carry a pocket full of coins and small bills and hand them out as I go for a walk. You are right, it is a daily occurrence. You definitely have to say no sometimes and pick different routes or you will be recognized as the guy who hands out money and they won't leave you alone. It is great that Keiri is learning and being exposed to both cultures.

You're doing the right thing by having your daughter see both worlds of her parents. She learns the culture and languages of both countries. She sees the similarities and differences. Both are home. 👍

That is good you are raising her in the Phils. They might not be rich on paper and have issues that don't really exist in the 1st world but they are rich in the soul. I haven't met kinder and cooler people than Filipinos.

Hey Jay just came across your channel today and I love it. My dad is retired AF and my mom is Thai. I think it’s very considerate that you are insuring that your daughter learns about her heritage and also that your wife gets to visit her family regularly. We were stationed all over and my favorite place was Clark AB. Keep up the good work!

You’re doing the right thing Jay. I grew up in a mixed-race household but my mother never taught me her language. I feel alienated when I’m around that side of the family because I can’t understand what they’re talking about.

Thank you for what you're doing, alot of fil-am families should learn from you. Actually, I'm an OFW here in Columbus Ohio working as an IT specialist. And I have friends here in the US who are full filipino but was brought up in the states. And it's sad to see that they don't even know the language or they're filipino parents didn't expose them or bring them to the motherland.

Dramaguete would be so much better if it didn't have the large population of expats. Some expats might like this aspect but from what I have seen, there are a lot of low level expats there and other cities in PI. Luckily, my family is in a area where you won't see expats unless they are visiting the beach in Pagudpud. Same goes for my wifes home town which is in Bicol. We have a new 2 bedroom cottage located in the family compound so we will be staying there to rest in between our trips in Asian. Stay away from the drama. 😐😐
