Why do we need TMVs (Thermostatic Mixing Valves)?

Do these need to to every hot tap in a new build house or can you fit just one or two after the hot water tank to serve them all?

Good afternoon Dan. These mixing valves are designed as point of use so should be fitted directly to a bath to protect from full-body immersion and to washroom outlets such as wash hand basins. There is no requirement for this on kitchen sinks as higher temps are required for the breakdown of food matter and grease.
