It is quite important where I live. We had several cars drive into the lake in the last two months, both just a short distance from my house on Lake Chelan. Responders did need to enter the lake to effect rescue.

How about you teach him how to be decent people first then teach them how to do their job as law-enforcement officers then you can teach them all this other taxpayer-funded nonsense cause let’s face it at the end of the day cops are only worried about officer safety

Lets see, they handle the majority of traffic collisions especially ones with fatalities, DUI's, moving vehicle violations, statewide narcotics intervention, statewide child trafficking intervention, fugitive recovery, inspections for semi trucks and tow trucks and are in charge of ferries, as well as high tech crime, organized crime, auto theft, executive security, capitol security, and homeland security.

I see this can be useful in two scenarios. 1. A state trooper who usually patrols roads the most, can see a car that just fell into a body of water. Then he rescues families that might still be inside drowning. This is a real HERO. 2. A state trooper wants to check someone for DUI and sees a suspiciously slow going car on empty highway somewhere near South Bend, WA. So trooper decides to pull over that car and say something like “you were crossing double yellow with your left tire”. But the car instead of stopping accelerates, and it’s now a high speed chase. Trying to get away from the cop, somewhere on the way, suspect hits a family with kids on the crosswalk. Cop still chases. Then, suspect falls into the Willapa River and a State trooper jumps under the water to get him to jail. Suspect at the court for killing a family gonna say that he tried to get away because his drivers’ license expired and he didn’t want a ticket. Results: 1 family killed, suspect who almost drowned is in jail, state trooper is a national wet hero for saving a life.
