Why does Brenda support the Zouk Atoms?

Thanks Brenda! I completely agree with the idea of having fun with the basics. A good example is Gui Prada's Fun With Basics series here on KZbin. So in principle, I really resonate with the idea of Zouk items. However, my experience with trying to follow the videos is that the explanations and names are overly complex (for me). It feels almost like a chemistry lesson, in which I have to remember so many things about each element, and then try to combine them. This is something I can calculate with pen and paper, but not while dancing. I would love to see the zouk atoms explained in an even more attainable way.

We have great feedback from the students and they are dancing the atoms. If you cannot come to Bremen, consider joining the online classes, you will find the same program than in Bremen. I think, here „the basics“ mean the basic footwork patterns that we can dance keeping the regular rhythm, like viradinha, bonus, etc. the point is, that there are A LOT of possibilities, but we normally dance a few (if some) and then the typical dancer (leader) go almost directly to fancy stuff
