Another theory could be that Oni shot his Messatsu Gohadou super into Ryu's chest. This makes sense because the super art depicts the fireball going through his chest and blasting out his back in the shape of a Kanji, the same kind Evil Ryu has on his back in Street Fighter 4

I always figured the evil Ryu we see in Super Street Fighter 4 was after his ending in Street Fighter Alpha 3. After beating Shin Akuma, Akuma turns into Oni, and hits Evil Ryu with the Messatsu Gohadou. This would explain why we see Evil Ryu randomly wake up at the start of SSF4

Same here. Though the version my boy told me(who is..or was actually a massive Street Fighter fanatic) is what im going with as it sounds a little cooler lol. He told me Ryu survived the Raging Demon by blocking/dodging all but the final hit. The last hit went through his chest and killed him, and what remained of his body was consumed and resurrected by the energy of the Satsui no Hado Akuma left behind(combined with Ryu’s refusal to except defeat). That has been my head canon since and im sticking to that dammit lol.

This is all because Akuma accepted the Dark Hadou, so he can control it. Ryu constantly fights it, it's basically the Dark Hadou overpowering him. But take a look at Ryu with the Power of Nothingness 👍🏾.

if I recall apparently it was Oni that did that to him. You can tell. The evidence of this is the similarities of the scars and the ultimate Oni uses. When you're close to someone and use it it does a little event. The blast sinks into the opponents chest and comes out the other end, spreading bursts of energy. If you compare both that and the scars on evil ryu's back they are exactly the same. So this proves this fact more. If I recall SF4 evil ryu isn't canon and neither was Oni so it'd make more sense for them to be somewhat related yet not be in the true storyline.

Manga Street Fighter III: Ryu Final has the answers. It influenced a ton of the actual games. Examples: Oros Boulder training, Ryus chest scar, Evil Ryus long hair from flashback Akuma, Oni's cracked dissipating skin effect, the Fist Of The Wind punch / Focus Attack, Akuma's Misogi on a bear, and also Akuma's Shun Goku Satsu Ultra start up intro is just like in the manga. The same manga artist and writer had done an early SF Zero manga that influenced the idea of our now iconic Evil Ryu. There had been no mention or idea of Evil Ryu from Capcom before then.

It is impractical. All those years of hiding it then someone just forcefully get it out and lashes out of control. He must trained under akuma for some extent. My theory is that Oni had hit Ryu with his Messatsu and in doing so injecting the Satsui into Ryu. Being possibly in a weakened state he fell into the influence of the Satsui No Hado. If you were to use Oni's Messatsu Hado on evil Ryu you will see in the animation how both his chest wound matches up as well as to the Kanji that appears on his back.

Akuma is his dad. He HAS to be lol. Well, not really, but I DO have a plot…. So, Akuma dropped him (ryu) off on the road as a baby and his brother (gouken) “finds” ryu and raises him. Akuma wanted his son to be stronger than him and so over time he checks up on ryu and fights him to test him. Akuma wanted better for his son, as the path he took being a dark path; for arguably valid reasoning when his parents were killed by a group of thugs, he knew all the while that deep down, maintaining ones humanity would make you stronger (gouken beating him up as proof) it was unfortunately too late for akuma to regain his soul as he had already sold it. Akuma sort of trained ryu over the years and all the while gave him a reason and reminder to never want to give in to evil intent. Although alums sold his soul and thus will never die as a curse, he has found his own way of obtaining inner peace via fighting his son (ryu) and learning from ryu as well. Akuma has learned to suppress his evil intentions and sort of control them and become one with them whereas ryu went a different route and trained to rid himself of any evil, thus making a sort of yin and yang relationship, with ryu representing the light or good and akuma representing the dark or bad. Both necessary for each other to obtain and maintain balance.

Next if u have any problem wondering who Ryu's father is it is akuma if your wondering how it is because akuma noir Ryu knows this but I can shed some light why so in street fighter generation akuma or gouki if u want to call him that bc it is his real name anyway akuma had a relationship with a girl she was pregnant but he did not know however during akuma's fight with his master akuma's brother gouken and his girlfriend were trying to find them the his girlfriend fell and started to vomit in her hand then gouken asked her if she was pregnant then she said yes after gouken won the fight with his master he killed him then left then one day gouken left Ryu at a man's house when he was born and told that man to let him follow his father's foot steps so akuma is basically the father of Ryu for all read this I recommend after you read this go and watch street fighter generations because that is proof
