Why Does God Allow Temptation in the Life of the Believer?

You know this sermon hit home with me. I am a recovering addict and when I was trying to kick drugs and alcohol it seemed that every time I felt like I was about to kick the habit, the enemy would drift back in and I would pick up and start the cycle all over again. I tried AA and NA but it takes the power of God no matter what a person does when they are in as deep as I was. It took for me to get a reprieve and just saying "NO" as well as getting back among my fellow believers to get out of that vicious cycle and now it is one minute at a time and staying in the presence of the Lord. Thank You, Yeshua.

Again, the narrative here has been and is not creditable i.e. I've seen things altered time and again for that very purpose. So, I don't know whether you are zeroing in on a person or riches because in my case neither is applicable here. I know there are temptations, certainly ...but known of those two are applicable here.
