(in animated productions that’s supposed to be done in layout or storyboard stage, but these directors demanded final cuts EVERY time which is extremely unusual practice because of just how hellish it is on the animators to do all that just to have their work tossed in the trash. basically it’s like deciding whether a house design should be scrapped or not after the house is already built, instead of while looking at the blueprints).

​@@axolostmost of the movie probably wasnt but it is quoted that it took 3 years to animate him due to hobie being animated differently if you are curious: hobie was animated in several different frame rates, his vest is animated in 4s, his body on 3s, guitar on 6s, and his other body parts on 2s sometimes.(Which isnt normal since most characters are animated on 1s (24 frames for 1 second of animation) or 2s (12 frames for 1 second of animation) Because of this he sticks out more animation wise and they had to be careful with things like inbetween frames because he is changing constantly and to make sure that he didnt steal the show (even though he did since he is well liked by many :p)

What’s even better about Hobie’s color changing depending on his emotions is that right before the spider chase scene he turns purple and green when egging Miles on. This made me really happy when I noticed it bc Hobie was the original Prowler in the 616 comics, so it feels like it’s intentional that he turned those colors right before Miles met his Earth-42 self, them sharing the mantle could also signify how they’re both rulebreakers and go against what all the other spiders think is best, which would make them the “bad guys”.

If I remember right, the slippers and bathrobe of Peter (with Mayday) were also pink, and Gwen is the only spiderman with white pink hues so far. SpiderByte is more purple but also has pink highlights in her suit. Peni Parker, a member of the old team showed up in pink and red colors when Miles saw her again! When Gwen hugged her father the surroundings turned pink. PINK is the color of family and loved ones! ♥

I think there is a fascinating connection between Miles and Hobie, Hobie being yet another father figure to Miles that teaches him his way. I think it’s worthy to note that a version of Hobie Brown was the Prowler in the older Peter Parker comics. It’s a fascinating thing that in this story, Hobie becomes an uncle-like father figure to Miles and happens to be the Prowler in another universe. Food for thought, amirite?
