Good info. For me my endometriosis was on my peritoneum. All my organs appear to be fine. Some people may not know, but excision is the gold standard for endo. We need a lot more surgeons trained to do it!

I had to have an internal scan of my uterus and they couldn’t get good pictures because I was in soooo much pain, it felt like she was hitting a wall and trying to push through it, as well as it was a HORRIBLE burning sensation and I asked her to stop because I was in tears. It was constant as well not just an initial feeling from insertion. Worst experience ever. And now I have an appointment with a gynecologist and I’m afraid of the pain I’m gonna feel all over again. 😩

Missing one cause that is actually really common - pudendal neuralgia! It has taken me 10 years to figure out what my pain during and in the days after sex was. Only nerve in the body that is affected emotionally and physically - you CAN heal from it. It feels like lasting burning pain and can feel like a uti without uti. Caused by nerve damage or compression in the base of the spine/tight pelvic floor will also exacerbate this

I had HORRIBLE pain during sex and horrible period cramps. After having 3 unmediated births I can tell you my periods were almost as bad as childbirth each month. Literally came to a halt once I had my first baby. Zero problems since that was 9 years ago.

I never had pain with sex but I had horrible periods before the birth of my first child that sent me to the Emergency Room on a couple occasions because I passed out from the pain. After I gave birth to my first, I never had a period that bad again. I often describe those awful period cramps as being worse than laboring and birthing my children. It may be something physical for me, but I'm suspecting psychological roots. I've always feared sex as I've heard it can hurt a lot since I was a tween. I had my first pelvic exam at 15 due to an infection. Any subsequent exam hasn't helped it :))) The exam hurts too, a lot. Love it when they tell you to relax. Mentioned this to my doctor in passing and she hasn't said anything. I haven't had great experience with obgyns. It's true that I haven't changed the center I go to for 11 years, but I don't believe it's going to be much better anywhere else based on reviews.

I am very surprised that as a doctor specializing in sexual problems you mentioned many causes about "why does it hurt when I have sex" that you never mentioned the male partner as a cause. The problem with males is that early in life in our society we CIRCUMCISE males. What does this do ? Circumcised males have abnormal sex, I call it "FRICTION SEX". The INTACT male who has his natural foreskin when he has intercourse uses a "gliding action" which is very pleasurable to the male as well as to his female partner (NO FRICTION). As a circumcised male ages his penile gland becomes keritinized (drys up). Intercourse becomes more and more difficult for him. Problem with painful erections, orgasms take longer to achieve causing excesive friction within the vagina eventually leading to erectile dysfunction with the male partner. The biggest problem in the medical community is the '" THE FUNCTION AND PURPOSE OF THE FORESKIN " is never taught in medical school!!! A lot of sexual problems could be avoided if we left the male genital organs intact at birth as nature intended it to be . A man would not develop into a sexual cripple (loss of nerve endings loss of frenulum and other sexual parts) and serve his female partner without the trauma. All mammals have foreskins or sheaths for his protection as well as his partner.

When I was so happy that somebody talked about vulva instead of vagina when needed, there I got another annoyance: using "pelvis" for a thing that is not a bone (like in "pelvic exam" - you are not examining the bones for sure). A lot of times a relaxed use of the correct term for a thing is half of overcoming problems, so this really bothers me and those shifts are so common (like talking about "bowel movement"). I realize this is trying to be discrete, but still ...). English is just my learned language - and my own is much more exact - so I see those things "from the outside". Don't get me wrong, this is a great video. And as a non native, non professional I don't have any say in the terminology. Just my thoughts ...

We don’t talk with anyone unless you give us permission! For example if you’re going to see a pelvic floor therapist it can be helpful is to partner and them see what we’ve found on exam. You have to sign releases for us to ever share. Confidentiality is always of the utmost importance and having these conversations is 100% what we are here for ❤️

I've always had pain, and was told many different things that were not true. Only my last doctor helped me to understand my body and what happens to it. So as it turned out, i have a light form of endometriosis. But the worst thing is penetration itself. And it is all about a really small size and a bone that has too small opening and is located very close to the vagina. Just was born this way 🤷🏽‍♀️ I have been checked for all the possible conditions many times, and everything is cristal clear. Just that endometriosis stuff

I’ve had pain with sex since I’ve been sexually active. Went to the OBGYN and we ruled out everything physical. Deep penetration is when I get my pain. Feels like my cervix is being hit which causes back pain. And the pain will last for days. I also have issues with pee dripping after I urinate and I always have tight hips. As my OB-Gyn taught me, for your pee-dripping concern, you need to do Kegel Exercises. Simple explanation: to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles, think of having an imaginary ball between your legs while lying down and knees bent. You squeeze the ball while tucking in your lower abdomen sucking in breath, then slowly release the imaginary ball between your legs and exhale. Or you can check YT channels where there are various exercises showing how to do it. And my Ob-'Gyn told me if I feel peeing, go ahead to the bathroom and sit on the toilet bowl. Batting average you are going to pee & wait until fully done to avoid follow-up leaking. And regarding your pain on deep penetration, there are only positions for you like doggy-style, or horse ride where you dictate the degree of penetration. As one medical explanation, women's body are designed differently, some have longer or short vaginal canal. And if it so happens your partner/hubby gets too much excited and you got short vaginal canal length, he could reach upto the cervix and it will really cause pain. You can try other positions but talk it over to not have so deep penetration and just transfer to the position that will not cause pain.

The hymen CAN and usually (but NOT always) DOES tear upon the first penetration -- this SOMETIMES (but NOT always) can cause some light bleeding, but normally should NOT hurt!

Unlikely that you developed vaginismus. Going through menopause suggests that you suffer from vaginal dryness, which can cause pain during penetration.A lubricant may ease the situation but when it doesn't, i would say you need to be examined.

I guess my girl has vaginismus and she has the same fear of hymen and blood. Even one finger penetration becomes overwhelming for her and there is no room for 2 fingers. On proceeding with fingers, she mentions pain/pleasure and discharges liquid. It doesn't matter though as I will never do something that's uncomfortable and painful for her. PLEASE! What do you think of 100% organic coconut oil? I have been using coconut oil and un-scented sensitive dove soap for years. Im allergic to condoms for the most part so I use Skyn / Bareskin non-latex whenever I have to. Cutting down sugar in your diet can help a lot, since sugar helps to 'feed' the yeast that causes the infections. Sugar is in so many products these days - savoury as well as sweet ones, and there's a horrifying amount in many low-fat and 'diet' foods, so you'll need to do some detective work to figure out where your biggest sources are. But I think you'll notice a difference if you can try to keep your consumption under 30g total a day.

Deep penetration does in fact move the womb, and it can cause anything from heavenly pleasure to excruciating pain or anything in between, depending on your sensitivity and the precise way in which the man hits it -- so in your case, a good option would be to ask your man to not thrust so hard and/or so deep, or to choose a position which will allow less depth of penetration (cowgirl is probably a good option, or missionary with your legs stretched out flat on the bed)!

Also called vulvodynia, which is a disorder that deserves an entire video of its own. Surprised it doesn't appear to be mentioned in any of her vids (yet). It's multifactorial--can have many different causes and often requires several different types of treatment: Specialized pelvic physical therapy, sometimes hormonal adjustments, allergy testing & treatment, controlling inflammation, identifying stubborn candida or other fungal infections, PROPER testing for sensitivity to oxalates and then necessary dietary modifications, etc.
