Last week a storm began when I exited my school building, there was no raid but the clouds were visibly dark, thunder and lightning were also present. After waiting inside for some friends I noticed it was raining, only until I actually went outside did I realise it was actually hailing. Luckily my house is only 10 minutes away from my school so I pulled my blazer over my head and sped-walked home. The hail was rather heavy and hurt upon impact. From what was a lovely summer's day turned into the most random storm I've experienced.

I’m an amateur storm chaser. Usually a day or two before forecast storms, we will have a general idea of where they may be likely to form. On the day, when we’re on the chase, the first thing we look for are the cumulus clouds bubbling up in the atmosphere. You can see this several times over the horizon, and it almost always develops into something. That old saying of “red at morning, sailors warning, red at night, sailors delight”, well, I’ve never actually heard anyone say or use that. We go by the convection bubbling up in the atmosphere in the late morning to early to mid afternoon. Have a look out for this next time a storm is forecast in your area, you may just see this.

There are three different ways of turning moist air into cloud, so that it rains or snows. Rain - and other forms of precipitation - occur when warm moist air cools and condensation occurs. Since warm air can hold more water than cool air, when the warmer air is cooled the moisture condenses to liquid - and it rains.

actually this isn't true! Watervapor is not able to condensate by itself. It always needs something to condensate at like Dust or other Particles. The Ressistence of Water to perform a binding is just to great and some other material with higher mass is required. I'm apologising because of my english. Sadly I as a German can't really handle languages.

It was a warm spring day. The radar was covered in rain. It was thundering. And there was a tornado warning. Me, my brother, my mom, my cousin, and my father were hiding in the bathroom. We heard a loud noise. Next door a tree fell. Everyone was scared. A few hours later, the rain had stopped and me and my father walked outside. The tree was down and the yard was covered in water.

Haven't watched dis yet but... Rain occurs when the sun shines on lakes or river, thus causing water to evaporate into water vapor, more and more of that happens and then all of it condenses into water. Then, once that cloud can't hold anymore of that water, it falls down. That's the cause of rain, same thing with hail, but it's ALOT colder. np, -NexusFX 2018
