What’s up bro. Just watched the video. Those temperatures you mentioned are normal for our cars. You may want to adjust the revs I your screen. The other alternative is to get a 180 thermostat. If it rises to the 260, you have a sticky or stuck thermostat.👍🏾👍🏾

It’s the thermostat. Same problem with me then I fixed it by flushing the coolant and replacing the tstat.

212 is normal operating range on a 392 .up to 221 degrees I've had a 392 for 6 years

I have a charger scatpack 6.4 and i did the coolant flush changed thermostat and burped the system but coolant temp went to 221 while idiling, is this normal?

I've owned 3 392s I have a 21 scatpack widebody now and my car never overheats try working on your downshifting your Over taching when u shift down your rpms should never be over 6000 on a downshift u could blow your engine

Do you get hot working out at the gym, then cool off when you put the weights down? Same idea here. Its normal. My Hellcat is exactly the same.

My 2021 just massively overheated, The culprit? A 180-degree Granatelli thermostat. Ordered a Mishimoto.

Your T-Stat is working properly,..you just have your RPms set to high so you’re in that gear to long! Of course it’s going to heat up but as soon as you pull a taller gear it’s going to make the temp drop down again. You can actually blow your motor doing that bro!

So i gotta start sliding in 2nd gear, cause she be heating while im doing ratchet shit in these other city streets, see i cant cut up in my city cause im the only widebody scat in my city. But now i know i cant cut up too long just a few spins then get out it

More RPM = more friction. More friction = more heat. More heat = higher temp coolant. The thermostat will START open - GRADUALLY - when you hit the thermostat rating, and only then will the radiator/fans cool. This cooling therefore lags behind your throttle inputs. So if you command 5000 RPM, the resulting heat may not be dissipated to the environment for a couple of minutes. That's the source of your very high temperature peaks. Consider a lower temperature thermostat.

Get a 190 Tstat not a 180. 180 is too cold and it will never get out of warm up mode so to say. Eventually this will throw a code because the pcm thinks the engine is never getting up to temp. 192 degrees and up is considered operating temp. All this can be avoided with an unlocked pcm and just change the settings and it's fine. So 190 unless getting a tune. FYI stock tstat is a 203.

That's normal bro. It's overheating because you're downshifting. When you downshift, RPM's go up.

You were holding gear to long the gear starts overworking there for it will get hot a normal coolant temp can get to 220 it also depends on weather and how fast it will reach that temp try on a really cool day and see the difference in temp that your car will peak at also that's why we have alot of gears so that one gear doesn't get stressed so much practice on the shifts better to cool down faster

Coolant flush and use a different type of coolant but every car does this in sport mode I've seized an engine because I turned the car off to soon after racing and didn't let the coolant catch up

I've noticed this with my Charger 392 as well....when I'm "having fun" or while doing some spirited driving. I think ironically when I've taken notice, it's been on some of the hottest of Philadelphia days. I think it's pretty normal...for a big a** motor like we have. When I did notice it...I chilled a little bit and it dropped right back down. But I do not think this is abnormal at all. Dope vid as always brodie!

that's normal bro, big engines heat faster plus track mode will heat it up a little more from the rpms same as downshifting. shouldn't be an issue i daily drive my scat in cali its 100 out here and it does fine

What your seeing is normal for a stock Tstat and don't need to change a thing. I put in a 180 Tstat in my scat about a year ago without any codes or problems.

So as waters boiling point is 100C or 212 F there is a reason why that is. If you have any water in the system you will essentially boil it. As water heats up it becomes a vapor. Dodge's thermostat is set to the reading of 212 before high fans kick on. Once you reach 212 all the access moisture that may get in your engine/coolant will be vaporized. And the more you run it the higher the temp is like a workout. Coolent is for cars like our sweat is for us. If you go on a track often I would get a 180 thermostat to help keep the Temps a little cooler but if your driving it as a daily I would not mess with this. This is why you see cars do cool down laps in F1 and Nascar because all the moisture will be in the block and oops hydrolocked

Same issue I’m having with my Durango. I think it’s the thermostat. I replaced it and it stopped getting hot for a couple months but now it’s back to it

I agree with some other comments. Get a 180° stat. Helps keep the engine cooler. Works for mine.

That y stat not gunna do nothing for trans temp you need a ppe thermal by pass valve that goes on the trans line these 8 speed trans has there own thermostat

Fam all u have to do is take your foot off the gas & double tap it, its gon drop to a lower gear & you can take off.

I cant speak to the engine overheating but i have a 2016 scat pack and i drove my scat 800miles and the transmission overheated... upwards of 270°. Took it to dealer and they changed some bs valve not covered by warranty or extended warranty to the tune of $700, drove it back from trip happened again... did some online research on the forums and found that it was electronic torque converter and took it to dealer i bought car from and told them and they said since car didnt throw a code they cant fix it. I replied cant or wont. Mechanics these days rely on OBDII data instead of real world info. So basically i have to burn up my tranny in order to get it repaired.... btw, the overheating light for tranny didnt come on until after 270° , but 200-210° is normal when driving at highway speeds for this transmission which you can not add fluid to or change as Dodge says it is a lifetime tranny fluid ( tranny manufacturer recommends change at 50-60k miles), but dodge says lifetime.... garbage treatment for these issues which will shorten the life of our rides.

Do your body get over heated at the gym doing light weight? No Maybe over heated doing heavy weight. Same for the car. Your foot in its ass it's going to get hot. Long as it cools over when you get out of it dont worry. (Common sense )

Sounds like your engine isn't getting enough. Because its broad selection to determine what going on. Clean your air filter if you have a cold air intake or if not get a cold air intake or replace it

Mopar hollering about 25/8, yet they’re severely lacking in the R&D department. That Scat probably has the same radiator as your old V6 charger. It wasnt built for the Autobahn…vehicles built for the Autobahn are ready to ride from the factory. Hence why Scats can’t get away from my little 3.0L BMW. After a few simple mods and tune, Hellcats wont get away either….all for 1/4 of the price of the Hellcat😎

You don’t have a manual so you can’t rev match and be absolutely stupid to throw it in manual on the highway when all u gotta do is he in track completely not traction still in sport… and automatic is fastest floor it in automatic and it sinks down and starts pulling from 3rd gear you can’t downshift to that while on highway you’ll blow engine so you can start from waaaay lower gear in auto you can’t downshift to 3rd in manual mode from a 60 roll lmfao you will blow it
