About Trevor: Yes, he did figure it out. There is dialogue in both Burying the Hatchet and the Wrap Up that show he did. About the bandanas: The whole point of the mission is to show how stupid Lamar is with these plans. This is the exact same mission where he lets the police track them down by calling on his phone ffs. But even then, D literally says he recognizes Lamar because of his antics and this stupid plan, not because the bandana was useless or something. About moping floors: the difference is that moping floors is an actual part of a mission, so it gas a putpose. Turn signals would be completely useless as it adds so little that it's not worth adding it as no one would use that feature. About the FBI raid and Fresh Meat: ...it's a videogame. About Steve shooting his leg: he literally explains that he does it so he can appear as a discovered double agent and that they had shot him. If he just stood there they would've gunned him down in a second. About not pinning it on the IAA: it serves no purpose for Steve to do that. All he wants is to get more funding, pinning this on the IAA won't get him a dollar. If anything, it may just attract attention as to how those experiments were discovered by a seemingly random group of people with no official affiliation.

Without watching I can already sorta answer it or at least put forth my own theory based on the way evidence and cover ups work in tv shows lol. I think he did it to have evidence showing he was a victim of the robbery and not complicit. Sure the IAA knows he was there with illegal and Ill intent but it's not as if the IAA can talk about their on going feud and there for they can't use that in a court of law against him. Sure it looks sketchy that he was even there in the first place but he could probably make up something to cover his ass. In public the IAA and FIB gotta look like they are part of the same team so it's almost impossible for them to really use any of these events to take each other down legally. It's the same reason hangs can't call the police when their drug stashes get stolen by other gangs. Edit: obviously him wearing the same Scooba hear as the robbers makes him almost 100% guilty but the game writers probably didn't think that far ahead lol

I get the gist that you didn't pay that close of attention to GTA V's story mode. Most of the broad points you make here can be explained away by a certain character's dialogue or another event that happens on or off mission.
