I wouldn’t say uneducated, bcos the ones we call “uneducated” people having their marriage last longer are actually the ones who have been advised and educated about marriage. They know marriage is an up and down journey , and will not always be happiness through out. So they know what to do in challenging scenarios that today’s couples or “eduacated” couples can’t withstand.

Most at times these advice they seek are good advice. Even as educated we might be I think we should still ask and seek for guidance from our parents and elders, even if you think you are very knowledgeable you still don’t have their experience.

This is a bitter truth most Christian try to run away from or seem to alterate. But it is what it is. The statement "till death do us apart" is ine underrated phrase in christiandom. You can leave an abusive spouse who abuses in all forms. Be it a cheat, a narcissist etc. But until the person dies you can not remarry cos you vowed before God that its only death that should separate you. You become soul tied to your wife or husband that it's only death that can separate you two. Yes dont stay in a toxic marriage, go ahead annd divorce but know that you can not remarry until he or she dies. That is why so many churches or people abhor divorce or still stay in such toxic marriages because they know the severity of the issue. But the best is to leave and not remarry again (true Christians) than to stay and loose your sanity or life. Its sad seeing Christians and even men of God marry divorce amd remarry while their ex spouses are still living. Its good to make your Bible your daily manual else hmmmm.

It's easier when you put it this way; Modern marriages are mostly trynna be 50/50 (not necessarily financially) while older couples simply understood that it was and always had been 70/30. Education makes us smarter. There used to be a lot disloyalty in the past but our mothers were not smart enough to figure that out. How women are getting educated.
