You can buy stripper clips and spoons and store the clipped ammunition in ammo boxes. Would be great for general preparedness or range use.

Pmags are so cheap now that you can almost consider them disposable. The bullets to load a 30 rd mag cost more than the mag. It makes better sense to just buy a bunch of mags and have them loaded and stored.

Stripper clips, great name for a military style strip joint. I do stripper clip, some friends of mine are slow to their use. I had bought a box online of 5.56 and all came clipped. I had no idea what they were. Then I educated me self via said KZbin. I love them. I bought more and load them up. Saves time at the range.

It just so happens that recently I have bought a Winchester 420 round ammo can that came in clips and included a spoon... I did not know what the "spoon" was at first but this video has educated me on the practicality of using clips & spoons even with the newest Magpul P-mags. Thanks for the video and keep making great content!

In the Canadian Army, our mag chargers were a common item we would save to trade with Americans when we got the chance. It's a lightweight complete piece of plastic with front, back, and side walls to feed the rounds into the mag, instead of just a small spoon. I got lots of fine American kit in my career by trading Canadian mag chargers. Makes us all stronger!!

I prefer the stripper clips... I buy them when I can, and when I can't find them and get bulk, I will load the loose rounds onto the clips for storage... Also... 20 years of service in the army... and 18 years of post military shooting... I have never used my hand to feed the mags with stripper clips... A table, the lid to the ammo can... any hard flat surface with an edge works WAY faster than using your hand like that...

Well-equipped rifle. Sometimes clipped ammunition is cheaper and more available than loose boxed ammunition. Also, keep multiple magazines loaded and in storage/ on your person. Also, invert and use edge of bench to save thumb/web. Thanks for the clear, concise video.

Those Winchester stripper packs come with 5 items. 3 full stripper clips, 1 spoon, and 1 cardboard carton for storage in the bandoleer. Have a 7 cell Vietnam era bandoleer that I keep loaded up with a spoon pinned to the strap. I also keep more ammo in a 50 cal can on clips for fast loading on the range.

Good, informative video. But anyone who has been in the military (Army, Infantry in my case) is thoroughly familiar with stripper clips. I keep my M4 ammo on strippers in original GI 7 pocket cloth bandoliers. 3 clips to a pocket. 210 rounds on a bandoleer. 3 bandoliers to an ammo can. So 610 rounds (with a spoon) ready to grab and go!
@armynurseboy

Same. In addition to the bandoleered battle pack, I additionally keep 2 basic loads of ammo pre-loaded in magazines. One load in a bandoleer, the other ready to be loaded into my plate carrier.

My preferred method of loading my magazines. I find hooking my index finger under the bullet and using my thumb to push all ten rounds in works very well, even loading thirty at a time. Take the magazine and tap the back of it in the table to make sure the rounds are settled and not caddywhompus, but works great. I’ll get bulk rounds off clips and load them onto clips while I watch TV or something. After all my mags are full of course.

Every new case I open gets loaded into stripper clips. I have some of the USGI metal clips, but after I got a couple of Thermold knock-off speed loaders from some kind Canucks in a far away place, I stopped using the metal spoons and eventually converted over to the Thermold plastic clips as well. I find the metal ones bend and break easily, while I haven't had any of the plastic ones I got ten years ago break or get loose on me. Also in a pinch you can, supposedly, use them as fire starters.
