Ricky you are fully capable. You said it’s a lot of work and that you need the grandmother as you wouldn’t be able to do it on your own. Please don’t sell yourself short. You are gaining confidence every day and have what it takes. It’s lovely that you allow the family to have time with your girls but set your boundaries now and try not to depend on them too much or you will come to regret it.

Good plan for having them with you when they start school. Of course, their Grandma (and other family) will still be seeing them all of the time and helping out when she can. The girls smiles are huge when they see you. DNA meets DNA is pure magic. You are doing a great job and being thoughtful to the Thai family and their love for the girls too. A juggling act for sure. But who doesn't love to watch a great juggler ;) Keep on plugging on.

Proud of you Ricky for learning thai. You can totally do it. Take inspiration from other foreign expats like Sweet Life Lanta and Yidan's farm life in Thailand. They're both non Thai foreigners who speak Thai very well. Also, don't forget to wipe your babies tooth with a wet soft gauze or wet cotton makeup pads atleast 3 times a day so they don't end up with cavities. Don't make the mistake I made as a first time mom. Wiping their tooth 2 to 3 times a day is essential so their tooth doesn't rot (caries) from the formula milk as well as food purees

Hey Ricky, great video. I agree with you on learning the alphabet will help learn Thai quicker and correctly. I have been learning Thai now for about one year here in the States with a tutor. Was learning with the words romanized. The problem with romanized Thai spelling is that it is just a guess based of what they think it should be pronounced, which is confusing to figure out the real pronunciation, and difficult to know what tone to use. Once I learned the Thai alphabet, I started to know what the true pronunciation is along with what tone to use. My last trip I was doing the same thing, trying to read the Thai signs to practice.

I wanted to comment on a prior video about a pram. They do make single file ones where kids sit behind each other. We had an uppa baby vista if you want to see what that looks like. Super easy with doors. I would still get a carrier just to have that option but would still opt for a narrow double pram if it’s possible.

Your learning Thai the correct way. Once you can read and know how to pronounce the consonants/vowels from then on it is simply building a vocabulary of words & phrases, and learning sentence structure. Each single word and phrase learnt compounds, it all starts to fall into place and you start learning quicker.

Have you thought about a part-time nanny to help out when you have the girls, or to even help the grandmother? Very inexpensive in rural Thailand and could come out of the Gofund me funds.
