I road trip frequently and I never spend 20 to 30 minutes refueling my vehicle. Even if I'm grabbing something to eat, it's maybe 10 minutes . The only thing I want when I'm on the road is to be at my destination. Now, I COULD get an EV that matches my current car's range on a full tank, which on the highway is about 420 miles, but it would be ungodly expensive to get one with that much range. and it would still require multiple stops of the better part of an hour to "refuel" it whereas my current car will fill up in less than 5 minutes. For a person that makes short trips and can charge at home, an EV probably makes sense as a 2nd vehicle. But I'm nowhere near enough a masochist to try road tripping in one.
