Why does this SeaMonkey have 3 eyes?! WHAT?!

Part 2 - update on the Sea-Monkey venture! It's been a week or two since I first hatched the shrimp. They have reached a nauplius stage in their life cycle and so appear to have three eyes! The nauplius eye will remain until the shrimp reaches adulthood and apparently stops functioning once they hit adulthood. I feel like this is a metaphor for something...

No way, I recognize that bottle of brine shrimp. When I was younger I got this kinda small microscope set and it came with slides and stuff and one of the things in there was a brine shrimp set, and that bottle came with it. I know it’s really insignificant but that bottle brought back fond memories lol

This reminded of my triops pets. I had gotten a kit of scholastics and was sad only 1 triops managed to hatch but was amazed by it's life span. It lasted a little over the 90 days expectancy and gree alot lager than i thought it would. Still under half an inch but bigger than the description. I Believe it lasted 4 months maybe 5, and died after i changed its water. I guess the ph was off. I dont normally get attached but i was sad cause it lasted longer than expected and wanted to see if it would get to be a round an inch

Fish, reptiles and amphibians have a third eye too. It's called the parietal eye. However it's a very primitive eye and very small that it's barely noticeable. And because it's primitive, it mostly just detects whether it's bright or dark to indicate if there's a predator above. But the fact that they have a third eye is pretty fascinating.
