Let's get this straight. "KZbin Kids" is a KZbin site for _children,_ it's designed to be a site where videos can be made for young children with developing brains in need of positive role models and naturally inclined to imitate what they see, and is said to be moderated in such a fashion. A video for mature audiences wouldn't be welcome on that site, right? So *_WHY_* was that first video allowed on the site? It's stop motion created with dead fish, in which one of the fish pushes its mouth into a humanoid doll character's crotch, produces hearts, and falls asleep like that. That, however, is not the end. The fish goes on to spend time with its eel friend, and leaves the doll character alone all day. This enrages the doll, prompting it to show its numerous fangs and lure the eel with false kindness to literally devour it eel whole out of jealousy? In a vengeful rage, the fish decapitates the doll. THAT'S acceptable children's content?

The baby monkey pet youtube rabbithole is way worse than you might think. I used to dig up in this rabbithole and I found: What I'm going to say is very DISTURBING. - There are videos that are similar that the ones you usually review, with stock baby sounds and toys (one of them has a monkey eating a CHOCOLATE egg with a DOG). - Others are made homemade by people from south east asia (where apparently they can be purchased). There are several of them, so is easy to assume that youtube allow them to make profit of these channels. - They are dressed in baby clothes over their fur and put in diappers. They sometimes get diaper rash, and there is some videos "treating" them. - The monkey pets are practically always babies without mothers. They die, are released or just dissapear before reaching adulthood because they would become too wild and agresive to handle. If they are released they practically have no chance to survive in the wild, because the macaques that are keept as pets are social species and they cant learn what they need to survive in captivity. - Since they dont have mothers thay are bottlefeed with human baby formula (because that is what they are fed by their mothers) and grown out babies are sometimes feed with bread, cookies and candy (because thats what they eat in the wild). -Sometimes the baby monkeys are taught to walk in too feet, even if it is unnatural for them. Sometimes they tie or wrap the monkey arms to force them to learn. - The comments are the most infamous and worring part of this rabbithole, as they enjoy and encourage the mistreatment of the animals. For example, if the video has a baby monkey screaming in a small cage, you can see comments like: "He is asking for a smaller cage" or "Drop the cage in the water". - A baby was so mistreated it ended paralyzed and in a vegetative state. They didn't sacrifice it and appear as that in some videos. (Edit: I changed a word because it was offensive) - And thats not even the worst part. Sometimes graphic torture of baby monkeys can be seen on youtube or other platforms. These are usually taken off very fast, fortunately, but if you witness it you lose faith in humanity.

Last time one of these was uploaded, I went down a rabbit hole and found some pretty messed up channels. I’m not doing that this time but just know these videos are incredibly popular, especially with poppy playtime characters. It seems to be a big thing with kids channels to make some of the weirdest videos with huggywuggy. I have literally seen someone have their pet hamster out to play while they were recording a video of paper dolls. The hamster was literally having what I think was a crisis in the background due to paper just suddenly being put around it

Poppy playtime is used due to having an appeal to children (I personally think the weird baby bootleg huggywuggy toys led to this being the case, as well as the designs in general.) It’s basically the new squid game in children’s content and before the was FNAF, another game that falls under the indie horror genre and was actually the inspiration for PPT. Indie horror games are designed for kids but not as young as the ones that would watch these sorts of videos. The reason why they even make these sorts of things is unknown but at some point we may have another El3Ag@t3 situation

I came across a pet store one time, called pawtuckaway pets, and I was watching a co-workers child put Barbie clothes on a cockatiel. It was obviously in distress, it kept on squawking and trying to fly away but the child was grabbing it by the tail feathers, I walked up to the kid and said the bird doesn’t like that, and the co-worker shooed me away. I looked back at the bird and it was shocked, not moving, heavy breathing on the ground.

The betta thing already hurt to watch but then the canary came up and it almost brought tears to my eyes. Its a red mosaic one, I used to have one with that same pattern and so I can tell this one isnt really taken care of properly. The feathers should be a vibrant red, red canaries need a special pigment so that their feathers are healthy. I lost my canary 2 years ago and its been hard getting over it, I had tamed him and all. I hope something is done about all these channels soon, all of these animals deserve good homes (and well, for the dead ones of the beggining, to at least be eaten or smthn 💀)

The egg trend actually seems to make PARENTS hide animals in plastic or small containers as "a fun surprise for the kids," rather than kids themselves shoving the animals in. Thanks for raising awareness about these videos ! (plus even pushing animal abuse aside, there is something so uncanny about them... like the elsagate stuff. I genuinely think those can be damaging for kids;;; ?) Also i want to add that I don't think one needs to be an animal expert to tackle the monkey videos. Between poaching or terrible breeding practices, the amount of enrichment and social needs a monkey has, their lifespan, the threat they can be to people, the knowledge that someone needs to have to care for one in zoo settings (not even has a pet !) I think i'm not taking a big risk if i say having a pet monkey is already animal abuse on it's own. I don't see a single reason to have one has a pet, and the fact that people seem to be dressing them up and handling babies is already a red flag; And on youtube ?? how can we expect these channels to take decent care of monkeys if they can't even handle fish correctly ?

Hihi! I study animal care, and you have to have a license to own any exotic animals, and monkeys are an exotic animal. In this situation, the monkey SHOULD NOT be eating any chocolate, they need to be fed a natural diet. Under the animal welfare act 2006, one of the 5 welfare needs is the need for a suitable diet. If the diet isn’t suitable, the animal could be taken away. And this monkey could be in a stressful environment, since the owner and KZbinr could’ve forced this monkey to do several takes of the shot they wanted, which isn’t fair. Also, putting animals in toy eggs? They could suffocate and die since the egg has no air holes, it’s animal abuse, plain and simple. On top of that, dead animals should be respected, not played with. Content like this could make children think animal abuse is ok when it’s not.

I think the biggest issue here is the blatant disrespect towards the dead. I have no issue killing an animal for food, for self defense, or to feed another pet. I have no issue with eating meat and I've owned snakes. I think the most important thing to teach children is respect living animals and also respecting our dead. Kids don't need to be on the internet at all and this is proof why.

They could but it should have only been hand-picked, trustworthy sources. Someone that could and would be held accountable for horrible, disturbing and illegal content. How about this: You have to apply with your real address etc. and maybe better yet give a background check or whatever your country's equivalent may be. The first few videos get reviewed before they are uploaded. You get booted permanently and even fined for the slightest transgression. A hassle? Yes. But it would keep kids safe and that is most important. Otherwise, you mustn't allow kids on the platform.
