Dogs have aided men in hunting,security and companionship for Millenia. They have gladly giving lives for those they love, they have also mourned their companions years after their death. As humans we owe a debt to the canine species to be honest, the amount of love and help they have for us is limitless, to love like a dog is to love unconditionally. Cats are just companions and are very demanding on top of that.

***** Actually dogs aiding men is not natural. Man domesticated dog-like creatures with force, killing the ones that did not obey them. The ones that obeyed are the dogs we know. The ones that didn't obey and escaped successfully fended for themselves and evolved into wolves. This gave dogs evolutionary advantage in obeying humans and is carried out by their off spring today. Cats on the other hand were domesticated centuries later and never in an a forced manner so they did not develop the evolutionary need to obey mankind. Dogs only love us because we have forced them to, otherwise they would be just like cats.

***** True. I personally never liked hunting though. Cats have also been saving lives but of course not as much as dogs and dogs are better with the security but cats are also willing to attack and warn people they do not trust who come to their territory. Dogs are more demanding than cats though. I know that from experience. And I have seen all my cats that I've raised giving me unconiditional love as much as I've seen dogs to give their owners. It might be a bit different way than how dogs show it. But they do. Now the idea how dogs mourn is incredible. I have heard few cats mourning too but not many. Of course dogs are also easier to train and they are capable of doing much more than cats. But I am just saying that cats are not what usually people think. AND I love both cats and dogs :)

I've had both and to be honest I liked my cat better not to be rude or anything it's my personal opinion that the cat I had was better at cuddling and cat lovers know it was really relaxing to have a cat with me because sometimes my dog barked and it got a little annoying because it was so loud and sometimes I couldn't sleep. They were both averages breeds from average families but it may have just been the animals I got personalities although my friends have cats and dogs too and I like the cats better in general. That's just me though there's tons of reasons to love dogs too!

People argue even though cats and dogs are both great.Cats and dogs can both go on walks.Cats and Dogs can both be trained to use a litter box.Dogs can be just as funny as cats.(vice versa.)And of course they can both be your best friends through the toughest of times.I love both cats and dogs and I used to always hate cats and argue but I love them bothI will forever like dogs somewhat more but please don’t argue over your opinions respect is key. 🔑

I agree, actually. I'm more of a cat person, but I still love dogs! I think people should stop comparing cats to dogs just because they are the 2 most popular pets. They're completely different so there's no reason to compare. Also, let me just add that we have bred these dogs such as Bulldogs and Pugs that can BARELY BREATH. We bred them because they were "cute", but we're really doing a bad job at breeding dogs that are good at staying alive.
