But The author revealed that Douma didn't feel any human emotions(joy, sadness, anger, enjoyment, fear, loneliness, love etc) until his death in the Official Fanbook2 So he canonically never felt anything towards Kotoha and Inosuke. In the official fanbook2, it is written that he saved her and protected her within his cult, as his usual part of good deeds. He never thought of her as special. In the manga, Kanao said that changes in a human's emotions are revealed in their complexion, and that the same is true for demons because they have blood flowing through their bodies like humans. He never actually blushed or turned pale at Kotoha, so he felt nothing for her. He wasn't really sweet, he was just pretending to be sweet. Also in the manga, he never adopted or raised inosuke. He just watched her taking care of Inosuke. He never touched them like in the fan arts. Kotoha Hashibira, Inosuke's mom. Favored by Dauma since she was young and pretty and sang well. Killed when she found his secret and said he wouldn't have killed her if she didn't run away. Honestly in my opinion, Dauma only thought he wouldn't have killed her since she was of use for him at the time. He has no feelings so he had no regrets, love, or attachments. Probably he would have killed her in few years time when she became old or found a better singer. Kotoha really saved Inosuke by running away.

Doma is more of a Demon than the Demon King himself like that boy really is hollow. Demon Slayers believe that once a Human became a Demon, they become a being who are incapable producing emotions which we found is not true since Demons can still feel love, hate, fear like and even show gratitude like humans do BUT Doma lacks any understanding of emotions and hides his cold and psychopatic tendencies behind a smile. Him being friendly and smiling all the time is just an act.

Inosuke isn't Douma's stepson. In the manga he never adopted or raised inosuke. He never touched them like in the fanarts, he just watched her take care of Inosuke. And he never felt paternal love. The author revealed that Douma didn't feel human emotions(joy, sorrow, anger, enjoyment, fear, loneliness, resentment, love etc) during his lifetime. So he canonically never felt anything towards inosuke and Kotoha.

Also damn, if Kotoha Hashibira - Inosuke's mother - hadn't seen Douma eating the people of the cult, we could potentially have wholesome moments between Douma, Kotoha and Inosuke since Douma had promised to Kotoha to live with him and that he wouldn't hurt either her or Inosuke (although now that I think about it, it was probably a well made lie since Douma is literally the definition of a psychopath)

Douma had NEVER PROMISED to Kotoha to live with him and that he wouldn't hurt either her or Inosuke in the manga He only told Inosuke that he didn't intend to kill her, but he never told her directly, that's likely a lie on his part. Even though he knew that if he turned Kotoha into a demon like Daki or Gyutaro, he could continue to live with her, he didn't even consider it and killed her without any hesitation the creator never depicted Douma having a father-son relationship with Inosuke and a romantic relationship with inosuke's mother in the original manga He never regretted killing her, nor did he miss her, and after killing her he forgot her without any regrets Plus, As the leader of the cult, he treated her as kindly as he did his other worshipers, and the Official Fanbook2 states that his saving and protecting her was just part of his good deed. He canonically didn't feel any emotions for anyone including kotoha, until his death. Also in the official novel, Douma hits her in the back of the head without any hesitation, killing her instantly, and even when he sees Inosuke in the river and dead kotoha, he didn't feel sympathy and says that his tears were a lie

Kotaha, she was around 16-18 by her appearance. She was found by douma after she ran away from her abusive husband and mother in law,douma took her in for shelter and stuff. Douma didn’t eat her at first bc she looked beautiful and had a beautiful singing voice. She stayed there for awhile until she saw douma eat one of his followers in his cult, she was horrified and decided to run away w/ inosuke, douma saw that she saw he ate one of his followers and chased her thinking that she will tell his cult that he is a cannibal or sum- Douma caught up w/ kotaha and she was crying saying “ damn I’m rlly sorry for being a bad mother and stuff but I got to throw you off this cliff so you can live,kinda praying that u won’t hit your head bc this cliff is like 30-70ft tall so uh goodbye my baby boy also I’m stupid for throwing but I’m on the edge of death and this cliff” when inosuke fell douma stabbed her or devoured her (idk rlly) and then she died ( bro ofc she would die man- douma thought that the baby(aka inosuke) Died when she threw him, so he walked away (pretty sure / I DIDNT READ THE MANGA SRRY). Later on inosuke was found by boars on the river, and decided to raise him. That’s rlly all I know tbh
