It's to do with your position a lot. I often find I have a choice between being on the road and out of position/unable to push advantage. Or pushing my advantage and leaving the road. Or vice versa dying on road or using cover. It's very hard to get the max out of road but you have to place it a little ahead of where people are to they fight into it as they push forward rather than where they are.

@LizardWizard1999Ай бұрын
When it comes to juno's orbit, lifeweaver's tree, kiri's rush and other ults like that, I try my best to place it when and where my team actually needs it in the moment. If they ignore it, then that's my fault as a support. I have to look out and be aware of what everyone is doing. To me it's kind of like giving a present, I have to be thoughtful and figure out what they need and hand it to them personally. Not just give them what I personally want and throw it across the road into a ditch, and say "hey your gift is over there, go get it". Supports are givers, its important to give properly
@LizardWizard1999Ай бұрын
I also really like moira because she allows me to give and take at the same time. I mainly like to use her ult to peel for a teammate who's 1v1ing or to help push forward and create space, or just use it's long range to my advantage and help clean up things. I love her high damage and healing

I think people really don't take into account how many people play Overwatch who are A) REALLY young, like even younger than they're allowed to be to play online, like under 10 years old, B) just don't have a lot of experience playing a lot of games, maybe they are still really new to how games work and/or only started getting into games like shooters and online games a few years ago, or are C) Drunk/High and they only play Overwatch to unwind and have fun and kill time after work and stuff. I think Bronze and the similar lower Ranks are filled with a lot of players like that, and honestly that's okay. If they're having fun then that's the entire point of playing the game. But you have to realize that's likely the type of person you have on your team and getting mad at them for not using a character right or being in bad positions or wasting their Ultimate is completely pointless. Strategies and stuff like that is not even on their radar. If you're the type of person who watches KarQ videos then you need to recognize that you're already an incredibly different type of Overwatch player than like 90% of the base who play the game a lot more casually, and you're like lightyears away from the experiences of the EXTREMELY casual Bronze Rank playerbase.

I'm so sick of seeing fucking "Healer diff" in gold from a tank who keeps solo-feeding in a 1v5 and leaving healer LOS or running off without their fucking team. Thank you KarQ, Thank you "GrowBeyond", genuinely bless both of you, cause sadly a healer can't carry a bad tank or a team who doesn't know what tf peeling or tempo or even reload mechanics are.
@edoge14352Ай бұрын
Sometimes that's where the carry potential lies in taking risks as someone like Moira and going for their backline to win that crucial teamfight. Sometimes you can't outheal the amount of damage they're taking so your best bet is to try to pick their supports as they won't be healing and you won't either. E.g. you start damaging one support the other turns their attention to try to keep them up and therefore you cutoff all heals for that period of time while you have your team taking an advantaged fight 4v3. Easier said than done of course but Moira is one of the best duelists and can keep herself up with her lifesteal and kill squishies alone. High risk high reward play that can be the difference maker in a team fight.
@soraniostaur3839Ай бұрын

5:33 Regarding Ball (from a Support Main) he's actually my favourite tank to play with (on the assumption he knows how to play the character). I'm a Lifeweaver OTP (I do swap I just always try to lock in the twink) and my favourite team comp to run is Wrecking Ball, [DPS (Typically Dive/Rush)], *Lifeweaver* [Me], and Ana. You'd be surprised how well I've found this works if Lifeweaver just carried the healing (not 100% of it) and you instead play with a super hard hitting comp.
@BlueDragon1504Ай бұрын
It's funny because it's so hit or miss playing with LW on Ball. I always sigh when I see one originally, as it usually means getting pulled right before popping shields five times. Especially annoying if I was about to kill someone.

One thing to add for the question at 19:33 is that higher ranked players are more adaptable in a sense of playstyle rather than counter swapping, also the thing about movement other than having insane movement higher ranked players do stand still, they just know when they can.

0:52 I see this habit a lot with me and my friends in diamond where when we’re locked in in a do or die situation, we’ll kill the last guy and almost always just do a 180 to look around for more targets when nothings on our screen out of pure reflex. literally hit that last shot and IMMEDIATLY 180 and we all do it a lot
@puppyvixАй бұрын
@ the last question, i also want to mention that some people are *genuinely* being held back, im not bronze anymore thank god but im still silver and the lack of game knowledge, communication, ignoring pings, feeding, etc. by your team is completely out of your control. i scrim up to plat-diamond on dps but im teetering on the edge of bronze (silver 5 rn) because i cannot make up for my team's mistakes. this is not to say i play perfectly because i have a LOT to improve on, but a lot of games it doesnt matter how good my positioning or movement is (i also do the "head duck" that was used as an example) i cannot control what my team does, and that leads me to kind of be stagnant in my rank. some games im not gonna lie i *am* the problem because my mechanics are kind of off and on sometimes but even the games where im doing the literal most i can possibly do and playing to the best of my ability i can still lose because i am not good enough to have that huge carry potential that like diamond-masters+ smurfs would and i cant fix my team's mistakes
@KSAwakenedАй бұрын
Only problem with that is like you said, you lack the carry potential, that's why you're at the rank, I've been through bronze and it is tough but you can't blame your team you just have to carry

Following up on the other comments: There's a difference between being able to do a thing when you have teammates very clearly outlining what you should be doing, vs being able to understand what's happening and making a plan or play on your own merit.
