@moreno xo this is such an ignorant statement. There are literally studies showing women are attracted to and try to mate with men who have high testosterone levels but marry those with more testosterone. @brandyandcream23 жыл бұрын
@moreno xo Using insults because you cannot make a sound argument. Ok. I will play along. You initial comment did not say “young and fertile”. It said “young fertile” without the “and.” “Young fertile” can include “unattractive”, “much more successful than you career women”. Are you ok with a woman you don’t find attractive who is much more successful and has much more money than you as long as she is a “young fertile”?

I think people get the wrong takeaway. Everything you just said is both valid and entirely reasonable. I think when men say they dont want a career woman its coming from a place of wanting to be able to connect more or spend more time together and thats often more difficult if not impossible if someone is a workaholic, it remains true for women who date men who are entirely career focused, if he's never home eventually that will make you feel a certain way as you internally compare how he values his work in relation to how he values you. Everything in life is a compromise that requires sacrifice. Its all about what you value and what you need. For men I think most dont care for career women because most men want that emotional connection that we just can't get anywhere else comparatively. Its not an indictment against you or your values or needs. Everyone in this life is fighting for what they lack most; for you it seems it was perhaps money so you worked hard to be in a position that you're in, for a lot of men we only work a lot of the time for the big paycheck to attract someone that we can share it with. I hope that makes sense. I cant speak for everyone obviously, just trying to speak on what I think is part of the underlying reason of it all.

I understand but notice you bring money to the store, not the same products that the store sells to exchange. In a relationship, the two parties bring different things to the table. So for example, telling women she can’t want a man who makes money if she doesn’t have money simply isn’t accurate. There are other attributes like this.
@cpex20053 жыл бұрын
Bruh, common sense is objectionable, perfect example: Guy decides to pick up his lawnmower and trim his hedges cuts his hands the fuck up and sues the maker of the lawnmower..Why? cause there was no warning sticker or instructions to tell him otherwise. What you and I consider to be common sense isn't what Edward Scissor hands here considers to be common sense. Haven't you noticed there are warning stickers on just about EVERYTHING now days. It's like offering something to drink for a guest that comes over, to me it's common sense to others it's not. So implying common sense has anything to do with it is absurd.

@@MikesterMF Your criteria is perfectly reasonable. But if you pare it back enough, you will find the evolutionary underpinnings that drive most of it. Not the man only should only be the provider bs and yes I am submissive to my husband because he knows how I like to be treated. So what happens when a man physically can no longer provide is my question? But some men can careless? Hmmm 🤔 Somebody’s ability to provide has nothing to do with gender. If a man is unable to provide for all those things that are delegated to a man’s role woman has to be able to pick up those things. But men don’t care about that? So yes it’s important to find a mate that can do those things.

Maybe it's because I'm from a different culture, but I have personally noticed that young men looking to get married in my culture do put emphasis on the education and career status of their future wife. Often, I have found that the better educated a young man is, the more they want their wife to rise to their status. It's very typical for a male doctor to specify wanting to marry only another fellow female doctor/dentist. I think part of the reason is that they are attracted to the idea of forming a 'power couple'. I also think it's true generally, regardless of cultural differences, that when men are married to women in highly reputable professions: lawyers (George Clooney comes to mind), doctors, businesswomen, etc, that husbands love mentioning it/showing off about it. It seems to be a quality/trait in their wife that they find attractive. Of course, how much that truly played a part in their decision to ultimately tie the knot, I don't know.

On the "family man" thing...that is a tricky situation to judge and just because someone doesn't talk to their family doesn't mean they don't deserve their own family. The reason being is because some people have very toxic families or they were abused as a child or they just didn't have parents that were present. So now they want a family of their own so they can give their children what they didn't have. My husband wanted a family for a similar reason.

The only problem I have with your thoughts on this is that I feel like it's a catch 22 for women. A lot of women from a young age have been told--especially by well-meaning fathers--that they have to strive to be independent and successful so that they don't have to depend on a man. And the reality is if you're not independently successful and you remain single, you're really out of luck. And even if you do find a man, one day he may leave or even pass away young, and then you'd also be in a bad situation. I think a lot of women just want to have the peace of mind that if they are alone for any length of time, they won't be in a terrible state.

And back in the day plenty of women did remain single, but unless they were born into a wealthy family or as an aristocrat...they typically had to become nuns or live at home forever because women didn’t work. It’s understandable why people want a backup plan. You can’t solely rely on someone else for your livelihood. Because you cannot make other people follow your life plan. We forget about how many stories there are like that.

@@agees924 Yeah exactly! Like I get where Aba & Preach are coming from in a lot of these videos--people shouldn't be obnoxious and full of themselves in their search for a partner, sure. My Dad died when I was 9 and my sister 14. My Mom had a high school diploma and a part time job at a pizza place. My Dad was a really nice guy but he was an alcoholic (thankfully not a physically abusive one, he would just make promises he could not keep when he was drunk) with no work ethic. He certainly did not think ahead about getting any type of life insurance and left us with pennies. We had to go on food stamps and rely on family and people from church. My Mom went back to school and got a degree and held down a 9-5 job from that point on until she retired a few years ago. We still didn't have much but we didn't have to be on food stamps or rely on others. My Mom made sure my sister and I knew that we were to go to college and not depend on men. Many of her sister's were dependent on shitty abusive men, most of whom were older and got them pregnant at very young ages (i'm gen x so mom and aunts are all boomers, not great birth control options or sex ed back then). They have all gotten away from those men. My Mom and most of my aunts have remarried wonderful men who are way more suited for them. This is because they got into those relationships when they were a bit older and wiser. My mom remarried my wonderful step dad when I was in college. They are actually perfect for each other and I often wonder how my Mom ever got with my Dad in the first place because they were so very different. My point is that you can NOT rely on a man to take care of you. Some of them turn out to be abusers after they reel you in, some of them die and leave you with nothing, some of them decide they are tired of you and find a new women. Women need to get an education and have a career. Who gives a fuck is some guy doesn't like it. Let him find some sucker whose going to put her in a situation if something goes south she has nothing. I'm happily married. We both have the same degree from the same college, this never bothered my husband. For a long time before we had kids I was out earning my husband. He didn't care because he was starting a business and was glad I had steady income to pay the bills he could not always help with. We now run that company together. He works a lot more hours then I do so that I can do all the kid stuff. I also the grocery shopping, cooking, and the majority of the cleaning. But I don't mind because I know he is out there making good money and I have more time to do that stuff because I work less hours. You better bet we both have life insurance policies. I do all the financial stuff for home and business so I know how much money we have and will not be taking less then my half of it all if he decides to step out on me (the only reason I would ever divorce him). Ladies get your shit together or you will be taken for a fool.

A similar thing happened to someone I know. After having kids she was told to not become more skilled in her old career because "there isn't any point, he'll provide for you forever." Weeeellll fast forward some years later there was a nasty divorce with abuse and drugs. Now she's relying on that career to help pay the bills, becoming more skilled and making more money. And it's not like she has some complicated career. It would be considered relatively simple compared to lawyer or doctor degree. Point is, it's not bad for a lady to learn a skill set. You never know the future. IMO don't make it your entire identity, it's just a way to support yourself. But it's good to know how to do something at least.

The biggest problem in the sexual market is the error of “projection”. Men believing that what makes a female attractive in their eyes (being nice and submissive) would be the same quality that would make them attractive to the female gender. Females believing that being assertive and wealthy would make them attractive to the male gender. They both inexorably go too far in enacting behaviors that goes with such assumptions.

And it really doesn’t help that men are told to “touch into their feminine side” “be more emotional” “be sensitive” by the same women who are not attracted to any of those traits. I'm there with you. You want a woman to build a life with you not around you. At the same time it's the dedication to a useful career I value not so much the resources it brings to the family. A woman that is super successful by a man's standard but doesn't bring any traditionally feminine aspects to the relationship would be a no go. My wife works a 6 figure job but I can also count on her to be the one to deal with most of the kids stuff and just leave me instructions on when to help with pickup/drop-off. The same way she appreciates the sink drain magically gets unplugged or the driveway is always plowed when she gets home from work.

I don't think anyone is saying they want a broke chick... Folks are saying that a woman's career isn't a leading factor for most men ... a woman is more likely to overlook looks because a man is a Doctor making $350k or a dude because he knows how to make money.... Most men aren't lining up to choose an unttractive or uncooperative woman just because she's a lawyer or makes money... her career is important to a man only after she's shown to be attractive feminine and cooperative...

I agree with the logic here but not the practice of masculine feminine thing. Not all career women are overtly masculine. But yeah a family with 2 bread winners means huge sacrifices elsewhere so it would make sense to me to that if she has the big career going why is it bad that he just has a job that when school calls and says little Timmy is sick he knows he can leave without looking bad to the boars of directors. Does that mean he has to be feminine and can't still be the one covered in grease fixing the mustang on the weekends and taking the kids fishing? And this is the dilemma that women face. We are supposed to have a hormonal nurturing connection that takes care of the needs of the child because they need constant attention but this clashes with the fact that the house-hold may lack the finances. So we become career women to make sure that we aren’t just depending on the husband’s salary. Because anything can happen. Women just don’t want to be left the vulnerable beings that we are. Because you don’t just pop out a child and go to work the next day. Not speaking for ALL career women, just the ones who feel the way that I do. You want to make sure your child has everything that they need but you also have to accept the fact that to have the time to nurture them in their early years, you have to miss out on work. Hence, finding a man who makes more than you or working yourself to death to save up money. Men can also be stay at home fathers but I’ve seen plenty of men who just don’t have the nurturing capabilities, attentiveness, and sensitivity. So you have to be careful forcing a motherly role on your husband. Just isn’t a dependable idea. So many worries.
