Which is the interesting part of his character. Dooku didnt want war, he believed in the (real) corruption of the republic and thought the only way to fix it and to unite the galaxy in peace was through abolishing the republic and recreating it without its issues. He didnt want to create an empire, he truly thought he could fix the system, and chose the wrong side for doing that.

The Jedi council did not approve of Dooku's hilt design and dueling form, as these combined were purpose-built to fight other lightsaber users. At the time, the Sith were not active and the Jedi were "peacekeepers", so this worried the council.
@dancooke8811
@dancooke8811 Жыл бұрын
That idea is foolish considering to be a "peacekeeper" you need to enforce your version of peace upon the citizens using military and government services which in this instance, are no longer peaceful so so the whole statement about "Jedi being Keepers of The Peace, Not Soldiers..." by Mace Windu in Attack of The Clones is BULLSHIT!

In fact in alot of ways...The Jedi Order is worse than The Sith. At The Sith were always honest when confronted about what they were up to. The Jedi...they continued to kidnap babies and young children from their families....and convert them into fanatic religious Knights that continued to fight their Holy War that doesn't End and probably doesn't exist...that is its in their mind. But they don't any better because they are part of an elaborate Cult.

The jedi spent a thousand years keeping the republic together, they were the glue that kept a bearly functioning senate and society from collapsing. Just look at what happens in the last days of the jedi order, we have a galactic civil war, an empire that dosen't outlast its first ruler slightly over 20 years, a new civil war, a new republic, another civil war, the first order takeover, and the new-new republic. the jedi were extremely busy, keeping the galaxy from a constant cycle wars.

While that is the story reason for the design, the real life reason for it was because the Actor (Christopher Lee) had arthritis in his hands and wrists. The curved hilt allowed him to properly work the lightsaber without hyperextending his wrists, allowing him to do more of the scenes without a stand in or CGI effects beyond the blade itself

I get the idea of hilt designs imitating the wielder’s master’s (probably out of respect) but honestly it makes more sense for Jedi to design their lightsabers to best support their fighting style. Even if combat is supposed to be a last resort, “an extension of the user” ideology makes a lot more sense, same as it would for sword crafting in real life.
@henrikaugustsson4041

I agree completely. I think most of these channels and authors just make shit up that doesn’t make sense because they want to be cool and edgy, but it really only shows how shallow their understanding is. Whoever said it’s tradition to make an imitation of your master’s saber probably just took one look at the original trilogy, noticed that Luke’s new saber looks like Obi-WAN’s and went “it’s tradition” without considering anything else known in Star Wars.
@Matt-lc8qt

Arguably the most unique and elegant hilt in all of Star Wars lore. In my opinion, If his blade was the same color as Mace Windu’s, he definitely would’ve been the most talked about and beloved character, even over Darth Vader. His mastery of both the Light and Darksides, along with the fact that he could control when he had the Sith eyes were a true testament of mastering both sides of the Force. Plus he went toe to toe with Yoda, not that he could’ve out Forced Yoda.

Dooku's lightsaber, from a purely practical point of view, is a perfect modification to standard saber designs. Its curved hilt not only makes it an excellent parrying blade, but it also gives the blade additional torque in saber locks. As somebody who owns a curved lightsaber hilt, these are very simple yet extremally handy advantages in dueling. The only impracticality behind this design is against staff sabers, since the extended reach of the staff allows the enemy to keep out of range of "parry-jabs".

Best light saber design. It actually fits the hand and doesn’t have clumsy switches or things sticking out of the hilt.

Did you also know, that very tequnique is considered forbidden by both the dark and the light and shouldn't be used in duels

Yeah, his is the only hilt I'll be buying when I go to Disney World this year. It's always been my favorite.

Lets not forget the important reason why. Traditional lightsabers have a straight hilt and so they have a fairly predictable arc and patterns. Darth bane chose this because it created just enough of a variance that people trained for lightsabers (even force sensitives) had a hard time predicting the exact angles that having a curved hilt provided with the proper technique. That combined with the knowledge of Dooku im fairly positive he had some knowledge of darth bane and added that to his toolkit
