It speaks to the difference between a team and a club I think - and what the management is getting wrong at the moment. They're trying to improve the club, but only focus on the team. Let me explain. I think if you got as much money as we do, it's easy to improve a team: just throw money in some players' faces, make them come play, they win a lot of games because they're good. But they're not really improving the club per se. The philosophy, personality, mentality, all those aspects are being a bit neglected, and that's kind of frustrating... And it shows at so many levels. Neymar is a better player than Cavani, no question. But he also just got here... And right now he's just running things, and when he does not, he just throws tantrums (doesn't celebrate goals, unfriends a partner)... Cavani's main preoccupation is doing his job. And he does it well, dammit: dude's consistently scoring 30+ a season, and plays wherever you tell him to play. You can tell that he's got nothing but love for the club, for his fans, for his teammates... When he celebrates, you can tell he would come up and hug the crowd if he could... Yet we act like he should just shut up and bow before our new king Neymar - makes sense that you wanna put the best player forward, but it's still a bit bogus But the fans are not letting Cavani down, because no matter how many times he misses, he does not let us down on the whole. He's just the ultimate soldier, he really fights to his best for the club, and that is why he is so loved. (plus he has scored some niceties, which sure helps). Agreed! I mean, the guy is modest, intelligent, and has been top scorer in Italy and France. The thing that makes Cavani great is his ability to adapt to different roles. Many strikers would disappear if moved to the position of striker or midfielder, but not Cavani. He manages to assist, score, and run the game. The problem is, unfortunately for beautiful Paris, the ones to currently run their clubs are more into shiny purchases rather than understanding football. Cavani is much more significant than Neymar, and the fans clearly understand that. The problem with Neymar is that he's too narcissistic, and while he does have talent, it's not uncommon for him to also damage the team with his behaviour.
