There are like 5 good songs on there (excluding bonus tracks), but the only great ones are probably never enough, like toy soldiers and yellow brick road. This album didn’t do much for hip hop. This was a gimmicky pop album with some dark twists. Kendrick’s TPAB did more for hip hop than Em’s album did in far less time. I honestly don’t think any of his albums are true hip hop classics. Eminem does not have a single album in his discography that could stand next to TPAB, or Kanye’s The College Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation, MBDTF, or Dre’s The Chronic, or Jay-Z’s The Blueprint, or Biggie’s Ready to Die, or Eric B and Rakim’s Paid in Full, or Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, I could go on and on. There is no way any true hip hop fan is naming any of Eminem’s hip pop albums as classics. It’s unthinkable.

The most incredible thinga about this album is em's cadence, flow and most specially his impeccable timing combined with his delivery which allow him to perfectly cut through the beat and create his own rhytm in the songs

I remember having the Slim Shady album on cassette. Listening mouth wide open around 13 years old. Then the second album I was like wow. This is legendary, thats how much of a classic it was. People immediately acknowledged it. The Dre also came back with 2001. What a time that was.
