Why Everyone Hates Adam Sandler So Much

The issue I have with Adam Sandler is that he releases the most milquetoast stuff and any time I point that out, people like all but queue up to tell me that, actually, I'm just jealous of his money and success. Funny enough, I hold no animosity towards people like Kevin Hart and Aziz Ansari, both of whom are higher paid and (in the case of Kevin) far better known than Sandler could ever hope to be. It's almost like I prefer comedians who are actually funny!

I don’t care if he’s rich, good for him, but I still hate his movies. Seeing him on the screen means you have to quickly leave the theatre or change the program. Hell, I don’t even need to see him, the moment you realise it’s an Adam Sandler movie, which is in the first few minutes because every movie is the same, you have to leave.

Exactly. I'm not jealous, the difference is when I like people who constantly deliver. If I go to something by (or with) Dave Chapelle, Louis CK, Bill Burr, etc., short of very small number of misses, they're going to knock it out of the park. You can never have even heard of the Ice Cream Trilogy, but when you hear it's a Simon Peg movie, you can be sure from that alone it's something that'll keep you laughing through all three movies. You can't really say that about Sandler, and his hits aren't quite out-of-the-park enough for me to justify seeing which one it is.

I am an Indian girl and I dnt care what Hollywood thinks of him. He is the most entertaining , great, loveable artist . I love all of his movies. I mean All!!!!! I don't hate Adam Sandler, but so many of his movies have disappointed me. Click, Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison and the Cobbler had an amazing premise, he is such a creative guy when it comes to getting those initial ideas, but then his acting (only in comedies, mind you) is cringey and the storyline and dialogue are random and weak. Sometimes I wish he'd sell those basic ideas to someone who can develop them better. Good for him for making money easily and quickly, but it pisses me off that he is talented but can't be asked to work harder to show it.

Some of his movies contain one or two funny scenes, with the rest of the movie being just kind of there. Most of his stuff is just completely forgettable or irritating (basically every movie or scene where he does his stupid, over the top voices/accents). Two exceptions of movies I actually remember enjoying was The Wedding Singer and Anger Management (although the latter is mostly down to Jack Nicholson).
