Jacks voice and character could change due to time and lofe experience. They could make an awesome game with him as the main character. If it was up to me, id have jack get crazier than anyone ever was on the games. And introduce the very first gasoline cars for him to occasionally drive. The thing is though, the last part of RDR takes place in 1914, way after the Wild West is dead. If a game about Jack took place later in the 1910s, or even after the 1910s, it simply wouldn't be a Western anymore. Even RDR1 takes place after the end of the Wild West, but it is close enough to it, and following a character who was involved in it, so it can still manage to be a Western, but a game set in like the roaring 20s or something just wouldn't be a Western at all anymore.

I think RDR3 would be cool if you get to play as a younger Hosea or maybe even Dutch and play through the beginning of the Van Der Linde Gang. I think it would probably work better as Hosea though. Then once he gets sick and can't function as well as he used to, getting to play as a young Arthur in the epilogue would be cool.

Check it out, Imagine a game , Red Dead 3, its jack marston, a well read guy who learned to become tough the hard way, using his intelligence to become a business man and moonshine runner during prohibition taking on bootleggers/mob guys, and the law. Thatd be the absolute best possible outlaw content to end that series with. I fkn hope so bad they go that route. Have those early cars being driven alongside horses on the streets and all that. You could come up with some amazing storylines with that setting. Basically merge the series into a gta style game of sorts even. Just imagining it is making me want it more and more

I like Jack,and sure ine the rdr2 Epilogue he is annoying but if i hate someone the Marston family it's Abigail not Jack,apart from her cheating on John and complaining and being annoying all the time.But Jack is a kid that grew up with a bunch of outlaws that stealed,killed and committed a bunch of crimes and all the people he loved or cared about died or left him.And when Ross killed John and Abigail died.With his hatred he followed into his fathers footsteps and became a gunslinger and seeked revenge and killed Ross.But in the end his is just a broken kid that had a bad life and is left broken and alone,he doesn't deserve hate.

Same problem as Carl from walking dead. We only see them as long teenagers but if they became men like their fathers, we would love their character and story line a lot better. Which teenager isn’t annoying? Besides GoatFever teenagers are annoying asf so most of them in media are going to be annoying as well. A big part of life is becoming a sigma male man, we don’t get to see that part of jacks life, so really his story is incomplete. I’m a big believer in the idea that red dead should stay a western series, but I’m also a big believer in good storytelling. (Sounds cringe but let me finish) a good way to end the van Der linde story is to end it with jack becoming a man just like his father, but unlike his father, jack lives a good life but we also need to see struggles in his life for us to relate and sympathize with him to make his ending feel more impactful. Jack after his dad dies in rdr1 he’s actually kind of cool moving forward. He’s not the same kid that he was in 1911 he can’t be. He essentially had to become the man of the ranch and grow up a lot faster than John would’ve wanted him too. He had to be the main one going into town on the wagon to deliver stuff and and do business. He was the main one who had to defend the ranch from any occasional bandits that may have tried to rob the place over the years. He was the one who mainly had to do most of the hunting and fishing presumably. Also any of the ranching skills he was learning with John probably would’ve gotten a little bit better over the years. Sure rdr2 and 1911 Jack is mid (at best). But the Jack, we see at the end of rdr1 in 1914 that guy is a gunman. 🫡. So Jack being the star of RDR3 is valid imo.
