Back in the 90’s I had a library of those magazine holders. Kept all my boxes and got contact paper. Love that the idea is coming back again. Somewhere along the way people forgot to be frugal. I use to have to be. Made a lot of things. Love your ideas.

I bought a second hand desk that had some small chips in it and it was a dark color so I bought the same contact paper she's using and I was able to lineup the grain in the contact paper and it looked so good I used it on my file cabinet too. My husband is a carpenter and I thought he would hate it but he was actually impressed on how well both the desk and file cabinet turned out especially how I was able to line up the gain to make it look more like wood.

I love the vase with the black paint , heating the contact paper makes it look so real. The shelf was a great idea. WOW! Never really cared for contact paper before now you have changed my mind. Did you finish all 8 loads of laundry? Your husband did a great job setting up the washing machine. I think you need to add a room to the house Lol expand the kitchen to the living room. I used to put contact paper on everything, I mean everything. I made lots of the magazine holders as with 5 kids and a lazy husband who refused to work I was always short on money. I covered my benches too. Of course the kids wanted their books for school covered in contact too. I haven’t used it for years ands never used a heat gun cos I never knew they existed. Your projects look awesome. I love all of them and the heat tool makes a hard job easier. I think I’m going to. Get some contact paper again and start using it. Thanks for the awesome ideas Jaz. I also have just a short wire shelf over my washer and dryer. Tried to cover it with contact paper. It doesn't look good at all! But ......your idea to cover cardboard. Then place It on the shelf looked great. Now there is hope for my shelf. Thank you. I will be redoing it. I thought the shelf was my favorite until you covered that bowl. I love that " wooden" bowl.

I have a lot of that contact that I do the same thing, it is a money saver, I use it to cover empty milk & water bottles that I use for indoor planters, the heat tool really helps too.

These look amazing! One suggestion I have for the magazine holder (which is probably one of my favorites) is to double-up on the cereal boxes and make the walls of it thicker. That will make it look even more like actual wood pieces. =)

The hot cocoa sign would also be cute as a riser. Use wooden beads from DT as feet. Make a hot coco bar. I like your notebook holder.
