Hey Bethany I got a huge smile on my face when you showed the lids of jars screwed to a piece of wood. My dad and mom were doing that in the 60's. Mom used baby food jars and lids for screws, tacks, and what not. Dad used them in the garage for different size nail, nuts and bolts. He also used the large plastic spaghetti jars and lids for his electrical items. He was a mechanic in the service than an electrician. I was actually thinking about it for my craftroom. TFS. Great ideas as always. Have a fabulous weekend! Take care ♥️ Blessings

I love those "locker" style storage bins from DT, but didn't like that I couldn't stack them. The idea of using the trays to make lids for them, and therefore stackable, is going to be an absolute game changer for my closet (which is currently a mish-mash of whatever I could find). Bethany you have such a creative mind. Now I’ve got to get to DT!! You asked about a large collection of scarves. I guess I must have. When we first moved I was showing my son around & he said “Mom why do have so many? You need to get rid of some! I also want to comment about bathroom organization. I have a vanity with a chair. The vanity has a drawer & a section with 2 shelves. I needed something for cotton balls & q-tips, I bought some smaller jars (comparable to a jelly jar) I used those for the items I mentioned & I keep the lid on those also. I also have 2 more for putting my make up brushes in one & the other for my eyeliner pencils, eyebrow pencil & mascara. For the last 2 I used a larger jar. It really works nicely to keep every thing organized. One other item I use for organizing isn’t DT but think it’s worth mentioning. I repurpose used prescription bottles. I use them for holding dental floss, floss picks as well as different items in small tubes like oral gel, triple antibiotics etc. They can also help keep your purse organized. You can keep it for hair bands, loose change, hard candy, storing a few Tylenol, a few bandaids etc. Or if you have kids I’m sure there are lots of things to use them for. PS I clean & dry them & remove the labels before using them.

about screwing lids into/onto wood, to hang glass jars full of nails, screws, etc: That was a very popular thing to do in the 1950's, 1960's. My Dad was a true HandyMAn, and he and his friends were subscribers to the Do-It-Yourself books, so popular during the 50's and 60's. I can't remember the name of the books, but I do remember looking at the instructions to hang glass jars from wood pieces. I consider myself very fortunate to have a Dad who shared with me, how to maintain a house and property, since I was 9 years old. He even taught me how to maintain the cars (I could take apart and put together a carburetor). And I'm a girl!! Thanks for sharing!

The possibilities are endless. When traveling a stack of them doesn’t even take up the space of one pair of jeans. Game changer. I even have the one from Dollar Tree with Sea Turtles framed. My dad had 4 of those boards with the jars when I was growing up. He could find anything in less than a minute. Keep up the good work.

Great video Bethany! Love the intro. 😉 I have the broom holders that I saw on Kathryn's channel a while back. She used them to hang curtains! I sawed mine into 3 pieces (using the dollar tree saw) it's easier than I thought. I now have 2 pieces to use for my curtains plus that middle hook I used in the bathroom to hang towels. I bought 3 total. It's enough to hang curtains all the way across my windows! I have white broom sticks, and one 'regular' curtain rod for the curtains. They won't be seen either. Plus I'm collecting TP rolls. These go in between the curtains to make the space above even. Hope this makes sense. I'll have to get some things you showed here too! Thanks again Bethany! 😁💜

@@leaelizabeth23 Interesting.🤔 Now that you explained it, I can see that becoming a problem? Maybe I could add some clothespins on the rings so they don't slide around? I'm a clean fanatic but👎🏽 horrible at the other half!🤷🏽♀️
@leaelizabeth232 жыл бұрын
@@melissadean2248i am a clean fanatic too and i try to organize but it always seems to take more than $1 to do it 😅 i dont own many clothes really. All my clothes fit in a 2.5ft long hanging bar plus some pajama shorts and undergarments not hanging up. Only because i havent been able to find clip hangers. Maybe clothespins would help. They may just slide off the hanger though. Unless maybe you take a drill bit the same diameter as your rod almost to add a larger spot for it to rest on the clothespin. If that makes sense. But otherwise i would think they will slide off. Maybe not if you use the very thin clothes hangers. Mine are all black plastic ones, thicker white ones for pants and heavier clothing, and then clip hangers for shorts and a skirt i own. It was very annoying when i tried the ring trick though for my tank tops! If you find a way around it please let me know because it does make it a lot less work to throw them on the hanger on the rings but i could not handle them all sliding to one side and the hanger sitting lopsided. 😂 wayyy too much of a neat freak for that.

I have a huge scarf collection. Some are vintage; some holiday; some are basic go-to pieces. However, I would never use a "scarf hanger" because scarves may snag when yanking them out. (I am always in a hurry.) Instead, I have 2 small stackable plastic tubs with kids (both 9×14×11). Scarves are "curled" up and stacked so I can quickly find what I am looking for. Also, I sort scarves by season and put away the tub with out-of-season scarves and keep the "in season" tub by my shoes.

I have a HUGE scarf collection. I went crazy about 20 or 25 years ago and started buying scarves from VERA🐞 (Her signature and a ladybug are on some of the scarves). It's not a "Vera" that is around these days, she was big in the 60's I think. The fridge bins are some of my favorite items; I've also learned that some of them fit nicely in the bottom of a backpack or even a purse, to give it a firm, flat bottom to sit upon.

The book rings and 3m hooks work great to make key storage on the inside door of the broom closet. The chalkboard labels then keep them organized.

I have also gotten zippered bags from the thrift store. People often give away promotional ones. It’s nice that they’re fabric, so I can throw them in the wash if needed. But I love that for organizing her tiny toys by type.

18:48 buy 2, cut cardboard to fit the sides and bottom, and lids if you want, then glue one over the other one (with cardboard in place) to make them much more durable 📥♥️

I've been doing this for years! Lol. Only instead of buying two, I just use decorative duct tape to attach the cardboard to the edges of the bin, they're usually choc full so I don't care if the inside isn't "pretty". Plus the duct tape helps to reinforce the bin, making it even sturdier and preventing seam tears (if yours are as full as mine are all the time & wearing out like that is a problem)

I love that stackable hack. I remember going to Dollar Tree with one of my friends and I insisted that the bins were stackable and sat in the middle of the aisle trying to prove they were stackable. They do have handles, but the handles were just short of allowing them to be stacked. He kept telling me they weren't stackable and was laughing at me, but I just didn't want to believe it. But, lo and behold, you found a way to make them stackable!
