Winter is worse. There's nothing to do. Atleast you can go to pools or beach in the summer

I'm Canadian and live in Northern Ontario. I have family in NJ and we often compare costs, taxes, benefits, etc.. One thing that really stood out to me are how high property taxes are in NJ along with many user fees for services.

You’re right, those fees can be incredibly high in comparison to other areas.

Au contraire. People are leaving Manhattan and moving to the Hoboken-Weehawken area of NJ. New rental buildings going up fast & furious. Commuters take the ferry right into the west side of Manhattan with shuttle buses waiting there as part of the commute. No traffic at all and the ferry’s are always on time and the ferry ride is scenic. Hoboken has amazing restaurants that Charlotte can’t come close to. The commute on 77 in Charlotte is no fun either. And the express tolls are literally highway robbery. Of course home ownership in NJ is ridiculously high. So that’s why my wife and I invested in our future retirement home outside of Charlotte while spending more than half our time in NJ. Earning a good living in Charlotte is challenging to say the least This is why we keep a rental apartment in NJ right across the Hudson River 8 minutes from Manhattan. Though Eli makes some good points I just wanted to offer a more balanced view having homes in both places.
@EliMagidsLuxuryHomesАй бұрын
I have spent many a day in Hoboken, New Jersey, one of my favorite places on earth. If you could afford to rent in Hoboken and take transportation into the city, it is great. It is also great that you can have a home down here in the Charlotte Metro area. But owning a home in New Jersey is super expensive in comparison. And if you don’t have to take the highways, that eliminates that particular issue in New York, love, New York and New York will always be home but Charlotte provides as a lot of other areas in the country. A better lifestyle in my opinion :-). Thanks for, your comment. It is much appreciated.

"Localization" is my word to describe the moving FROM counties/cities/states TO other's where normal married couples & business can work and expand goals without excessive taxs, red tape, political zombies striving to burden them with non cents non stop. Starts with moving regions, ends with people and business moving nations. Process has been ongoing for some time now. - Veteran

Ok, I listened to the video, and there's one underlying issue that some mentioned, NJ is the most densely populated state in the country, when you take all the reasons you gave, imo they all lead to the same conclusion, overcrowded, even the weather, Summer heat, head to the shore and overcrowded beaches, winter is brutal, head to indoor entertainment and overcrowding, I'm sure there will be disagreement. Too expensive? Too many people Roads in bad shape? Too many people Traffic is horrible? Too many people Oh, and this is not a criticism, just an observation, I live in Boonton, NJ. but I look forward to moving to the greater expanses of Northern Arizona soon.

When the Giants 🏈 and then the Jets abandoned NY for Jersey, the games sucked, no character stadiums in the middle of nowhere, sit in traffic forever, Seacaucus is the most disgusting with the smoke stacks always polluting.

People are leaning New Jersey and going to Florida for nicer weather??? 😂😂😂 Florida summers are unbearably hot and they're almost certain to get a hurricane or 5 between August and November. Insurance companies are fleeing the state in droves. The North East has some of the most stable weather around and is best suited for climate change. * Almost no hurricanes - Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012 and was a cat 1! Florida eats back to back to back cat 3-5 hurricanes year after year after year! * No earthquakes * Access to the great lakes, the second largest fresh water source in the world. There are parts of Arizona that have literally run out of water and people have to put tanks on their property and pay to get the periodically filled up. * No sinkholes, due to the rocky soil. Sing Sing prison comes from a native American phrase meaning rock upon rock. * No tornadoes I don't care what I do, when I retire, I'll make sure to keep my house and maybe rent out a place somewhere warm for the winter.

@@EliMagidsLuxuryHomes My friend had his bachelor party in Aruba a few years back and we went in late January. They're pretty much 82F all year round and have their "island breeze".
