Phil has lost his right to ever call someone else out for poor etiquette.
@jonslg240 Жыл бұрын
*If you ever say the F word around Hellmouth (or any other banned words) he calls the floor even if you aren't talking to/about him. He does it to angle-shoot.* But when he does it, even if people call the floor, nothing happens to him. He's an EXTREMELY VERBALLY ABUSIVE PLAYER who deserves penalties all the time but all the floor people are too scared to give him penalties. That needs to change. It's been happening for 30 years now. *He basically is a cheater with the way he breaks the rules but then calls the floor whenever anyone gives him a taste of his own medicine.* These double-standards need to stop. If someone complains about other people but then does the same thing, the floor needs to punish them too regardless (irregardless!! 😉) of if other players complain or don't. Phil is a dirty abusive angle-shooting poker player and needs to be stopped. *He shouldn't be allowed to abuse other people then call the floor on them.* *It's literally not only DISGUSTING, but IT IS EXTREMELY UNETHICAL on the floor's behalf as well.*

Poker is evolving into a professional sport with dedicated news coverage around the clock. We don't need Hellmuth and his balls stupid rants directing the image of the game nowadays. People aren't tuning into the WSOP because they want to see a middle aged man swear out someone for little reason anymore. They tune in because they're legitimately interested in the game, like one would tune into the World Cup finals. We don't and shouldn't need to give Hellmuth a free pass.

What happened to poker?! It has more rules than there are stars in the sky. Poker is at its core a game of lying and influencing. If people want to play like robots, there's DA INTERNET. Or don't film it and sell it as entertainment. WPT is boring as hell. At least WSOP should still have that lawless cowboy poker feeling, at least the feeling... Yes, you millionaires have it hard alright, boo hoo. Campbell got busted, because the deuce came on the board when he was 5 to 1 favourite, if he won the extra 25k, he would be happy as a unicorn.

@jaakkolampinen34746 жыл бұрын
Imo when you're calling with K2 there you are hoping to hit your flush and it will be good. King high is never best hand and you're still calling. Therefore it is actually better to make it 3way and triple up right? When PH "says" he's not going to call K2 should fold more often right?
@JonathanPoto5 жыл бұрын
Kuzmin is calling No. Matter. What. Second nut flush draw, small call to knock out a final table opponent, Hellmuth had made no move to telegraph strength. It’s really overblown.

TV is all about ratings. For this reason it will never change. Phil Hellmuth is one of the greats and deserves respect with the poker world however Phil could be a bit of a poker brat at times. Lol. Some people have forgotten why Phil's nickname is the poker Brat! Just play poker and don't take it personally because its a game. Don't be a sore loser.

If this were about poker as a competitive sport or casual pastime then you would be right. In fact, you ARE right. Everything you just said is 100% spot on. BUT (and there's always a "but") Hellmuth is also right when he invokes "good television." TV poker is first and foremost ENTERTAINMENT. The players, the game, the drama, the storylines--these are the product. The viewers are the consumers. You said poker needs heroes and that is absolutely true. However, it also needs VILLAINS. Whether it's Hellmuth the poker brat, Mike the mouth, Jamie Gold with his histrionic bullying antics, etc. (OK I haven't watched in a few years). If every player was a class act like Negreanu or Farha then professional TV poker would be much more cordial and much more boring. Better to be like the WWE than the PGA tour, because that is what will attract maximum interest and keep the $$$ flowing which ultimately benefits everyone associated.

You see people getting punished a lot for swearing , yet you have seen Phil swear lots of times and never a penalty
@skoitch4 жыл бұрын
In tournament poker weather he’s gonna go in or not, maybe he wants to talk the other guy into the hand because one might eliminate the other. That would also benefit helmuth

I'm not a poker player and never would have thought of this, thanks for pointing it out. Phil's probably not punished because he equals good ratings....it's always about the money.

What if someone for example pretends to be pissed holding the nuts to induce another caller? Technically he could still have had something.Then what ? Is it okay then? He didn’t talk about his hand he just made it seem like he wasn’t calling. He didn’t say anything related to his holdings at all so I see absolutely nothing against the rules.
