I can remember when you could purchase a three family home in Boston for $20'000. When Condos came on the scene in the early 80's, you could purchase a condo for about 50,000 dollars! Wow how times and prices have changed! I left Boston decades ago and it was a wise move!

I live in Everett and im sick of how the realtors need a brokers fee on top of security,first and last and eight thousand credintials to move in and all the landlords are rude and the 3 families are all old broken and have pest and they want to charge $4000-$10,000 for 4 bedroom i cant wait to leave Massachusetts

Rent is def not cheap around the city! As an fyi, it’s not the broker who demands, first, last and security. As well as all those credentials. That’s the landlord. They have to demand so much because it is very difficult to get someone out of an apartment in this state. Due to the difficulty of vacating a unit, they have to go over board in credentials and security to ensure that the tenant is qualified. And yes, there is a broker fee involved in a lot of cases. But rental agents work hard for that fee. I am not one and would never be one. It’s a miserable job. They have to charge a fee as they have a family to support and are doing this as a business, not a community service.
