It’s a good film, however, a lot of his logic doesn’t line up. If he was to accurately portray the concept of video games filling a competition void. He should have mentioned how subjective that was to the individual, and how all humans seek out competition in some form such as a sports, debate, video games, etc.

This video snuck up on me like Randy Orton,like I didnt even have time to "watch out watch out!",before I found myself on the ground overwhelmed by the ammount of DAMN TRUTH that was pooring like a water fall from the screen. I dont even play COD and this is the first video I have seen from this channel. Been a gamer all my life and have seen PLENTY of gaming related content over the years,but lately I havent really been watching that much gameplay related vids(other than some sc2 esports). Most of the stuff I watch lately is stuff related about economics(like Currency vs Money a series by mike maloney,would greatly recommend to anyone),AI or "non authoritative sources of news information" like China unsensored,that help me get a better idea of what the powerfull agents in the world are actually busy doing,while the major smoke bomb distraction that is covid 19 is THE ONLY thing in the minds of 90% of people. So this video snuck up on me and it turned out to be 3 hours some of the most intelectual,most inspiring,deep ,well put together commentary I have seen in a while. The fact that all this epic revalations were beeing shared on the background of dank COD killstreakery,just blew my mind :D

Holy fucking shit. I have spent over a decade on KZbin watching videos, more than any average person would. If I had to estimate, I have probably viewed over half of a million videos on this platform and spent in excess of 10,000 hours consuming it’s content. I have watched videos on more subjects than I could count - gaming, politics, geography, cars, art, engineering, science, news, philosophy, history, nutrition, exercise, culture, instructional, motivational... I could go on forever. Not once have I found a video as important, engaging, and thought-provoking as this video was. This is a fucking masterpiece. This video has literally changed my world perspective and has helped me to realize not only how broken our system is here in America but also how it IS possible to improve it. Not to mention every other great point this video touches on in regards to humanity, philosophy, mental health, etc. Though there are some minor flaws in logic and reasoning here, the main points are nearly irrefutable. Cheers to you sir. I will forever be a fan after this. I hope that I can share this video with everyone one day. This is THE best video on KZbin I have ever seen.

A beast of a video, with so many things to talk about, it is difficult to pick just one. The MW2 days were THE DAYS, no doubt about it and to this day, there has not been another game like that and it is a great starting point to explore the other themes of this video. Almost all things you said in regards to society and economy ring true outside of the US as well, like in Europe for example, the West as a whole actually. One point I can 100% confirm for myself is the productivity guilt you mentioned, the feeling of enjoying something, like a game, not being enough anymore, because it could also be content for a video, something more productive than playing a game exclusively for myself. It is made worse by KZbin punishing inactivity like there is literally no tomorrow. Kinda even more concerning, considering that this (KZbin) is already the preferable option to wage slavery in a job outside of my control. I think many other KZbinrs can relate, doing YT is often not just more fullfilling, less draining in terms of time and energy, but also better paying than a lot of the normal jobs available. We live in weird times and this video, above any other one addressing those topics, sums up why exactly.

I actually finished all the school work I would need for high school by the time I was a junior. Except for one class, that didn’t do on purpose because some friends of mine found out how to get Minecraft to work on the school computers. well, people with ADHD barely produce dopamine, so they are emotionless at times, if a person with ADHD does not like something, thats their brains fault, not their own, confusing i know but the reason he wanted to get laid is we rely on risk over reward systems, that how people with ADHD work
@theshanamaster4 жыл бұрын
the lack of dopamine makes it where you have to make something exciting happen, or something exciting has to happen, either way if you have ADHD, there is going to be stimulation, even if you have to cause it yourself, thats why they are also a bit of trouble makers

@Batman I agree with most of the points you mentioned but not on the capitalism one. I live in germany and its very hard to get from middel class up because of taxes. You are paying so mutch taxes here and many companys only rely on tax money. Its not really economical here. Every year you pay more taxes but your payment doesnt rise that fast. I get 50k a year with 37h week and have studied. I am a beginner and only have 1 year expierence. I think you have to find a job which doesnt suck extremly. I dont hate my job but I hate to work. Its fine. I am not unhappy with that job.

To be as open as I've ever been on the internet, I'm 15, a freshman in high school currently. The long hours of relentless nothingness and painful hours of schoolwork, along with the nonexistent amount of joy and excitement I feel from completing it, have completely demotivated me from doing anything in high school. Not to mention my interests lie in things other than school, I want to one day become an independent game developer and then build a company atop that, I want to do this to bring others joy and because I revere the prospect of being the hand of god, if only it be in a virtual space. All my life I've been a grade a student, near if not always top of the class, but I feel as if now I am learning nothing but abstract and oblique concepts genuinely no one cares about nor will care about in 20 years. I know I can succeed if I apply myself, but the process is wholly and staggeringly unenjoyable. Now a days I seriously spend time contemplating either leaving school, or fluking and just completely losing all cares I "should have," like doing well in school and such. I have for a long time also considered just getting a job, because there at least it doesn't feel like your life is stalling, you make people happy and you have an inherent objective; survival. Now, think of all that I just said about why I hate life. Video games have no problems accomplishing these things. This is why I feel so much more... right, spending my time majorly playing video games. Maybe I'm actually depressed instead or I have some other mental condition I am unaware of, but even If this was the case, me playing video games makes my mind no longer suffer and dwell in those dark places. I never seriously consider just dying instead of experiencing more of this when I play a video game. I am dead serious when I type, "I would rather do anything then continue going to and participating in school right now," because I really, REALLY would just rather not participate in that horrendous chore. You know what is not that by all margins? Games. Fun and fulfilling things. Videos like this that expand my knowledge into things I and the majority of society either do or should care about. Videos that help me get one step closer to achieving my aspirations. School, or at least all the ones I have access to, do none of that. I already know what I want to do in life, society and law just literally will not allow me to do so. And you know what prevents me from thinking about these things that bring me hate and spite? You know what serves as a reprieve from these garbage things? Video games, and I apologize to those who would call it better for me otherwise, but I trust my self more than anyone else, and this trust tells me that the best thing to do this to optimize my life to be as happy as possible. School is not an optimal thing in this equation, however gaming and watching videos are optimal, so I call to replace one with the other. And I trust myself to have chosen the optimal outcome. Edit 1: 9:40 really resonates with me.

Bro, just get yourself through school, get as good grades as you can putting in as little effort as possible, enjoy what you can of it (hopefully you have friends there who you have fun with). Don't go to college if you don't know what you want to do career-wise (and don't just tell yourself you want to do something just because other people tell you you need to have a long-term plan.) And then you can make all your own choices once you're out of school.
