I don't use tape. I use a heavy duty rubber band. Amazon sells bands that are 1" wide, 1/16" thick, and about 12" long (doubled length). Over the crown of my head and under my jaw. Absolutely keeps the mouth SHUT.

Am 90 and hv been mouth taping a year. Using a cloth tape…. 1/2“ W and approx 2 1/2” L Place 1 end vertically above upper lip and the other end, under bottom lip. Play around with placement, I don’t pull tape tight…..works for me. BTW cloth tape can be purchased online or most at drug stores. Cloth tape is gentle on skin, easily removed.

I cannot sleep on my back. I am and have always been a side sleeper. I have to use nasal decongestant if i mouth tape because my nose gets side dependent nasal congestion if i do not. I have tried everything for my nasal decongestion and also use Xclear, but i cannot sleep and/or snore and wake myself up without nasal decongestant. I am sleep deprived ... yes.

I use Flonase as well... don't use it right before you got to sleep...at least one hour before so it dries.. then use xclear to moisturize right before sleep. I also use nasal dilators Rhinomed Mute right before bed. Keeping the nasal passage open leads to dry out so xclear is necessary.

@@oh-brothers thank you, have tried Flonase etc does not help much and makes me sneeze. It sounds weird, but I have really dry nasal passages and nasopharynx and still get stuffy nose when I lay down. Drives me nutz ... have dreams I am drowning. I will try the nose strips again tho and a humidifier along with the Xclear as my next steps.

As an RRT, I suggest that if you think you have OSA, go and get a sleep study done.

What do you think of the Apple Watch Health app? I want the best sleep data and have an Apple Watch (one year old.) Should I get an Oura?

Simply another way for your health, habits and life to be monitored. Gives them more access to keeping tabs on you.

Is there something more unnatural than taping your mouth?
