I believed. My favorite game from the last fighting games is Samurai Shodown. I feel is the only one that keep that fun vibe. MK1, ST6, Tekken 8, KOF are ok!, but I feel they lose the fun. I think Fatal Fury will bring that fun back.

SNK is deeply in need of a global breakthrough in the same way of Arc Systems with GGST, that became their most important release of all time and reached unthinkable levels of success for a niche franchise like GG. The best chances to do that are easily on FF.

The problem is that no SNK game can afford to rely on the SNK community solely, because these games are very niche and the community is small. They need to reach the level of success of Guilty Gear Strive, that went far beyond the small bubble of the veteran GG community.

I would love for it to succeed. To think that this is the game that launched Rock Howard, an amazing character who got even more popular after CVS2, and one of the most iconic super moves (the Buster Wolf). SNK pulled off the next generation trope better than Capcom. This game deserves to succeed solely because of the wild mechanics that allow countless possibilities and a sense of accomplishment. With the feint system, the game isn't only just for beginners. If one has played MOTW, they'd know how much of a role feints play in complex combos. The customisation also provides a wonderful feature for those that love to deck out their characters to their liking. The success of this game is essential for the growth of SNK and that goes without saying. Things I want: A second hidden gear for Rock; something that showcases him and not his predecessor.

It's also essential to show that other franchises can do well besides KOF and they deserve to coexist. Because that point is not clear at all based on 30 years of SNK fg history, as KOF 97-98 completely outshined everything else at the time, even Garou MOTW and Last Blade 1-2. And nowadays, with the much higher game production costs, a company like SNK can't afford to have so many multiple failures like that again.

I preordered Fatal Fury the moment the official trailer was released. I was on the edge about whether to get it or not, but the single player content pushed me over the edge, so preorder... It might have helped that I was stuck in hospital for a week at the time and was doing nothing but watching that trailer on loop. Brainwash!

The main point in my opinion is that the technical advancements of the fg genre (notably since the ps3 gen) have pushed the standards so high, that the community naturally gets more demanding about a minimal acceptable level of optimization in the launch version, in every new release. About roster, extra content, balance, menus and interfaces, netcode, etc. Secondly, and this is an important part: the fgc makes a fundamental division between the mainstream and essential fgs and the non essential fgs. And there's much less tolerance about the latter ones since they are dispensable... they don't run the whole scene like SF and TK. So smaller fgs have to work 2x or 3x harder on their early version, or else they will be badly treated for their mistakes (while some of these mistakes are forgiven in mainstream fgs).

Personally, I just hope it's just as fun to watch. I've been having trouble being invested in watching modern fgs. Meanwhile I have no problem watching FT3/5 in Super Turbo or watching tutorials of Marvel 3 and GG Accent Core.

Good point! Thats definitely important, i think a big thing thats gonna get crowd reactions are the EX moves into EX combos, super fun looking.

@@DecepySwag I hope it's not gonna be Drive Rush all over again because eventually I got bored seeing meter be used in the exact same way, same issue with Tekken 8 and KoF 15. I can't play these games with the laptop I have so I'm always stuck playing older titles. But every year I lean more towards older games since it feels like these newer FGs try to do so much to what older ones could do in a snap. I was born in '03 to be clear.

My favorite franchise since its begining back in 91..im hyped as hell, and , maybe, just maybe, so many KOF fans will realize there are more ip's in SNK other than KOF. And that thanks to those, KOF (even its name to begin with) exists. Great Video as ever dude.

well with how crappy both T8 and Sf6 are, let's hope for the best with CoTW. Doesn't seems to have Drive Rush, Drive Impact, Throw Loops, Avatars and playstyle that punishes defense and force constant offense. So yeah, could be great and i hope it is. Ofc no pre-ordering. I don't do that anymore, there is limit to how many times you can be stupid.

City of the Wolves might be the 1st SNK game to sell over a million copies. heck, with the Ronaldo collab(which COULD be Ronaldo as a guest character). it would be easier than we think.
