Good video Jimmy, we see this a lot on the 2.2 transit with these aftermarket turbo actuators, we always fit new genuine turbo’s to them, its expensive but always fixes the issue

Top job Jimmy, sorted without the need for the old parts cannon. Cheers for the upload.

The underboost could also be partially caused by the blocked DPF, as the turbo needs a pressure differential across the turbine to spool up. If the DPF is restricting the exhaust flow severely it is going to prevent the turbo from making boost, causing bad combustion issues and filling up the DPF even more.

@@ORileysAutos Pretty sure that's what is happening with my Citroen Dispatch. It's always felt a little gutless since I had it, then back in March it went into limp and subsequently failed it's MOT on an Engine Management light; they diagnosed it and replaced the throttle body. A grand later and problem (and the old fault code I was getting) did go away but it seems a little gutless still, it's throwing up errors again now, so I bought an OBD2 reader to read off the codes, and I'm pretty sure I'm looking at a blocked DPF. It's booked in to have it cleaned next week, and I'm hopeful that'll be the end of it. I need to get a tow bar fitted to it, but I'm not going to be towing anything with it being as gutless as it is right now.

What I love love love about that miracle fluid is that you don’t need to carry out forced regen which I hate doing as I feel it’s a lot of hard work for the engine and at the end of the day you never really know the engines health coolant pipes etc anything can go bang at any time so much better using that chemical amazing 😊

The 80.1 was in red because for some reason the range was 0-1 instead of 0-100. Seen it a couple times with my Launch. Should probably send them a report.

I have the same issue with my transit 2.2, my turbo went last year so had it replaced, but since fitted, on motorway driving I get the p0299 code. I also constantly smell the exhaust from the cab and I also get the oil change required warning come up, plus every few days I get white smoke bellowing out the back briefly. My engine blew up earlier this year so I had a recon fitted, but I'm still having the same issues as before the new engine. I'm at a brick wall as the garage that fitted the new turbo say they can't see anything wrong. I heard you mention you was in Luton, I'm from Stevenage which is just up the road from there, and if you're able, would love you to come and have a look. I'm getting desperate as no-one seems to be able to help. Thanks

@@chrisnewell-7758 No mate, I had mate carry out a forced regeneration and it worked lovely for about a month and then the issues started again. I'm booked in for a new vaporizer to be fitted for next week. Fingers crossed this will resolve the problem.

@detectingwithdolby1512 sorry, only just seen your reply, did you change the engine oil and filter after forced regen? Or after the new vaporizer? Did that cure it?

Great videos. Very helpful. Thanks. Have you had an issue with intercooler air temperature sensor on these vans? I have had a engine service light after driving for a hour or so, with no loss of power and doesn't go in to limp mode, which disappears when the ignition is turned off and no error codes. Saw online than this is similar to problems with the intercooler sensor. Took out the sensor to test it, got about 10 kOmhs. Apparently a new sensor reads about 18 kOhms. But noticed the sensor was covered in oil. Bought a new aftermarket sensor but it reads less kOhms than the one on the van.
@ORileysAutos Жыл бұрын
Yes they do fail sometimes. Also some vans share the loom with the maf sensor I think. Common to have issues with the plug on maf

Hi Jimmy, I have the same van - 2016 2.2 Sport. Van was driving perfectly, no warning lights on dash, then all of a sudden, while driving about 75mph on the motorway, the van started shuddering and losing power. I pulled over, had to get a recovery truck to take it to the garage. Oil leaking onto the ground. It wouldn’t start, but after it cooled down it would start, but didn’t sound healthy at all. Turns out, it split a piston. Have you any idea why this would have happened…? Van was serviced regularly, and there was 70k miles on the clock.

I may have an idea, cheap materials used in the UK market to make you buy another one. I don't try to be rude but that's the poor reality. As a foreign I've noticed this from my first day. McDonald's lol . Everything is poor compared to other markets. Sorry....

Hey, I've a similar problem p0299, I've done the following, new turbo with actuator, gutted DPF, mapped out with EGR and Blanked off, new oil pump and sump, check boost pressure sensor for carbon deposit, changed air filter and MAF sensor, done a smoke test on the intake system and intercooler system and there's no leaks. When I drive its boosting in 1st but not great. Second it hits 2 gear at about 60 70km, ESP light comes up along with service message in the cluster. No EML at all, only fault that ever comes back is the underboost. I'm now being told to get the injectors checked but I'm not confident that will sort the underboost issue. Any advice mate?
@jonfred784 ай бұрын
Try the fuel temperature sensor. Easy to find in the engine bay. Unplug it and take it for a test. If it boosts then that’s the issue, £28 quid fix and worth a try as it’s so easy to rule out yourself.

Why would you not fix the DPF first since a plugged DPF will effect boost

Im having bad dreams with a 2.2 transit from 2014 too. NEVER EVER dropped a single fault code. Nothing! It regens every time the vehicle is on road, once in a running cycle. Pressure is good, vaporizer good, oil level prefectly halfway between the marks and reseted. Injectors tested, 1 replaced and teached. Dpf cleaned with pro machine after dismantling, then teacjed. Egr, intake valve and manifold also cleaned, actuators tested and teached. Starts on first crank, runs fine, pulls as it should. Just REGENERATES at EVERY f.kin run. Dont know what to do. Anybody pls HELP :D
