It is self serving contempt more than jealousy. It serves other football teams and supporters to have contempt for Wrexham.., so they do. How does it serve other football clubs or pundits in the country, when football fans across the globe and in England have a love in with Wrexham? Have Wrexham as their second team? It doesn't. It takes money and attention away from their teams. But it serves them to have contempt. It serves them to stop it. Problem is as contempt is self serving, self serving contempt can never be satisfied. It must exist. So no matter how shitty the comments get, how nasty things get.. they will always get worse..as the contempt isn't rational, or based on anything reasonable.. it is self serving.

Other fans aren’t jealous. It’s just the fact that they’ve spent and are spending far far more than the competition and pretty much buying there way out of the league simply because the other teams can’t compete financially. If there was a wage cap in the league there would be no Paul Mullen no Ollie player no Ben tozer and so on and Wrexham would have had to have done it properly like every other team. It was the same with forest green and Salford, they got abuse for doing the same thing. It jus simply isn’t fair and makes a tough league even tougher to get out of
@olowokandi42 Жыл бұрын
Football has been about money for a long time now. If you put a wage cap no one would ever invest in these small clubs because there is no financial benefit for investors to be stuck in lower league for a long period of time, and even just maintaining the ground and club is expensive, look at the state Wrexham stadium was, and they almost financially completely folded before, only to be barely saved by fans. In an ideal world all clubs have equal footing, but we live in capitalism mate, and this is what we get
@joeutm212 Жыл бұрын
@@olowokandi42 wage cap would save owners money if anything. And league 2 and league 1 standard players would stay there and to gain promotion it couldn’t be bought you’d have to be a lot smarter with bring players and managers in. My team Grimsby we’re in the exact same position as Wrexham. A shit owner took us from div one to the national league in the space of 20 years and without funding raised from fans we wouldn’t be a club. We still managed to get out of the national league on one of the lowest budgets in the top half of the table last season after our new owners spent money the right way. No reason Hollywood fc couldn’t have gone up without bringing in all those big name players
@matthewbertram4312 Жыл бұрын
That sounds like jealousy. If you want to get up 4 more tiers, how do you expect to do it? Hopes and dreams? No, you spend like that's your goal. And then you rely on the players to play, the managers to coach, and the office to make the right moves so the spending actually works instead of just dumping money into a non-functional situation. Any team; ANY TEAM; would spend what they need to in order to help accomplish their goals if they had the means. ANY FAN would defend their team spending to do it. As long as it's done right, and with intelligence. So anyone using the money that Wrexham has spent as a reason why what they're doing isn't impressive...well, that's jealousy.
@olowokandi42 Жыл бұрын
@@joeutm212 Congrats to your team for getting out. Without a big wage budget a lot of things have to go right, you have to have excellent team cohesion and a good coach, and then after you're up you need to somehow keep that team together without losing players to more wealthy clubs, and even try to strengthen it. But my concern is that a wage budget would mean that teams have more difficulty attracting good players across the board in lower leagues because who would want to drop down in leagues then? Talented players would exclusively stay in higher leagues, meaning less talent across the board and a more difficult transition for clubs once you get out and make that promotion to the next level. A big financial injection shortens that time span for advancement through the league system, allowing clubs to "skip" a few leagues, but that's up to the owners how much they want to spend, and even that is not a guarantee. Notts County was very close to winning the league in front of Wrexham despite what the Wrexham owners did. With a wage cap lower leagues would be less interesting for both sponsors and investors alike.
@joeutm212 Жыл бұрын
@@olowokandi42 I just don’t agree that bringing talents down to the national league is good for the league overall though. It stops progression of young players and 90% of teams from the national league cant even attract them in the first place, only the rich clubs in nice areas can. If less money is spent on the wage bill more money will be left for the training facilities, youth facilities, the stadium etc and you’ll see a more better structured clubs. Look at bornemouth they were incredibly well structured and had a class young manager and managed to get out of the lower leagues and go to the prem without having to spend ridiculous amounts. Same with Luton. Where as teams like forest green and salford who tried buying there way through the leagues are not stuck in league one/two. As well, the sponsorship argument isn’t true. Yeh Wrexham are gonna get coverage because of the owners being famous but I Crawley got no coverage when they bought there way out. Forest green didn’t. There will also always be talented loanee players in the lower leagues. I guarantee most of the players who are 23 and under in the championship started off with loan spells are national league clubs, I’ve seen loads of them at Grimsby. Siriki dembele at bornemouth. Elliot embeleton at Sunderland. Josh benson are Barnsley, jus to name a few. You don’t need big money signings at 1/2 of the rich clubs in the league to have talented players in the league
