I just learned about FTOs a week ago and was honestly surprised it wasn't a WCA event. I agree with you, it should be added for sure. However, I think changing the name would be unnecessary. FTO sounds interesting and unique compared to other puzzles like NxNs and minxes, and it certainly caught my attention as a non FTO solver

Yeah, FTO doesn't sound bad. The reason I mentioned the name Octaminx is because the WCA might want it to fit in with other events. But other than that I agree with you :)

It should be a WCA event under the name “Octahedron”

The one problem with that name is that there are many different puzzles with that shape (for example, CTO).

I think da master pyraminx would also be a good addition! peopl say that the master pyraminx is just a more complex pyra so it wouldnt be a very good addition but in da same way the FTO is just a higher order skewb diamond and a skewb diamond is just a shape mod of a skewb so i don think that argument is very good. the curvy copter would also be an amazing puzzle to see added as it is really unique with its jumbling and edge turning that isnt like any other puzzle in the wca!

I definitely agree that Master Pyra is a good candidate for an event! (might even be more fun than regular pyra lol) I don't 100% agree with FTO being a higher order shape mod, as the turns and solve are quite different, but I see what you're saying. Curvy Copter definitely is fun! However, it's probably too challenging for most WCA competitors and not enough people do it.

I Think they should add Fto for wca but also 8 and 9 because we have decent hardware now. And I think we need bigger NxN cubes And gigamimx, maybe mirror block should be added too! then There something slow and something people can/are already fast at

gigaminx is too similar to mega/5x5 and mirror is too similar to 3x3. wca has already rejected them

For real. 2x2 has become such a trivial event. If picking up the cube and putting it down is starting to take such a significant amount of time of the solve, then the event really needs to be reconsidered 💀

I really enjoyed the video!! A little question though, would you recommend the qiyi FTO or the Dayan FTO. I currently own a diangsheng and I’d like to get one that doesn’t pop often. Which one would u say is better or would recommend

Thank you so much! Great question, I don't have the Qiyi, but as far as I know, if you want the best of the best, the Dayan is what you should get. If you just want one that's speedsolvable without it popping, get the Qiyi (make sure you get the magnetic one). I heard ShengShou is making one soon, but I doubt it'll be any good lol.

It wont get added there was the same hype for the redi cube but that never got added.

When was that? Redi Cube has a bunch of downsides, too (sprint event, bad hardware, less interest than FTO as well). I think FTO has proven that it has potential and even people like Max Park have tried it.

@ it was massive but in the end it wasn’t added I think the wca is afraid of adding new events because in the beginning of redi cube comps were hosting them a lot at the same rate as FTO, there was less comps back then but had the same percentage of events at comps as FTO everyone wanted redi cube added but they never did I’m afraid it will happen but if it did I will be willing to learn how to solve it! The redi cube craze happened in 2019!
