I bought the Steelcase Leap chair with a headrest and Billiard Multi fabric in the color Storm Cloud with the platinum base and casters for carpet. It was $1578, but I got a sale and it was only, cough, cough, $1262. I up fitted it with my Lifelong Rollerblade casters and the Aloudy Memory foam arm pads. Check out the link below to buy on Amazon. It really helps the channel! I have been searching for a chair for a really long time now, and you will have to watch to see if this is the one. I use this chair for long hours of editing and creating content, gaming on PC or console and watching TV. The 4-D armrests move around really well and aren't too jiggly, jiggly, they fold. The headrest is great! people say its bad but it's really functional!

Could also try the Lamia from BTOD, it's a combination of a refurbished Steelcase Leap v2 back and frame with a refurbished Steelcase Amia seat cushion; only available from them and in very low quantities. I was looking for a Steelcase Leap v2 with headrest; used one on leather for work but when I moved remotely the company kept it. Been using Gesture with headrest until the Lamia showed up at my doorstep. Because it's from refurbished parts, it is cheaper than either of their original chairs. Been enjoying watching your videos. I'm 310-330 lb 5'10" so I couldn't find as many choices

@lukebrutal78 Yes, I think so, too. But there really is no alternative to it at any price point atm. The headrest does leave something to be desired, but I made some makeshift cushions using rolled towels to make it work for my height, and now it feels excellent. Every other chair has either something or the other, which is amiss. The leap really is the only one that gets the closest at what it does. And my back couldn't be happier. I'll keep mine for years to come!

Been daily riding a HM Aeron for 10 years and seriously looking at the Leap V2 for my next chair. Looks like a great option. Crandall has them for $600 or so , refurbished -- so I'm leaning that direction unless I find a better deal or a new one with a significant discount.

I like Crandall. I wish they had Leap V2 with headrest though. I like the additional padding they offer for the seat. When mine wears down I am going to replacer it with theirs, if I still have the chair! Aeron was a bit too plasticy for my liking.

It's rated at 400 pounds, not 450 pounds. There's a chair called the Leap plus which is wider for quite large people and that accommodates 500 pounds.

I appreciate that info. I failed to include it in my research. I have noticed that if I get too wide, this chair may be a bit tight. I have a 42 inch waist line. At 44, or 46 it may prove uncomfortable. Thank you for bringing that up!

I must be the oddball. The Leap gets so much praise. I have watched hours of reviews and finally ordered one from Crandall. It doesn't have the head rest. But I hate this thing. The seat is too short and causes hamstring soreness. The backrest is too short and causes major neck pain/fatigue. Maybe the head rest would help with that. But I just don't like how the chair forces me somewhat forward with such a short seat base (at full extension). I am about 6'1 and 225 pounds. I use this chair at my gaming desk. But I like to lean and lounge in it too as it is my main chair for leisure. I watch TV and play PS5/computer games in this chair. And I just can not make myself like it. I am seriously considering the Fern/Embody because the seat base seems big enough to allow me to change positions. I would also grab an Atlas after market head rest. We shall see. Thanks for the review

I am about the same size. I don't have the hamstring issue or any numbness. I also use the Cushion Lab footrest. It makes me super comfortable. I spent 10 hours in it today, no issues. I did like the Fern's size but the quality ruined it for me. Did you check out my Fern review?

If you ever get the itch to try another, the HM Embody Gaming with an aftermarket Atlas Headrest is the Leap's maternal twin when it comes to finding that unicorn. I've been a solid fan of the Leap through every generation and although I definitely miss the arm rests, the full back support and completely adjustable Atlas Headrest put the Embody just a smidge higher in the S-tier bracket for my gaming setup. It's unfortunate HM doesn't listen to the feedback and add an option for the headrest in-house.

Oh I still have the itch! The hardest part of committing to an expensive chair like this is knowing you aren’t going to get another. I really want to get an Embody Logitech G, even as a trial, but adding the headrest is more of a permanent addition. Please subscribe and like so I can grow my channel (and income) to continue reviewing these chairs. I appreciate your insight!

@@lukebrutal78 Entirely feel ya on gambling at that price point. And to complicate things more, Atlas is still a few months out from catching up on the massive amount of preorders they're fulfilling. On the flip side, if you did manage to score a headrest to give the Embody combo a try and it wasn't for you, you'd probably come out ahead reselling the headrest being that anyone who's gotten the early orders is holding on to them for dear life. Without that addition though, I'd be 100% sticking with the Leap!

@@lukebrutal78 Precisely! And if you tally up all the hours of use you eventually get out of it with how long quality chairs last, that "cost" is actually an investment that pays dividends in overall comfort and health. I've had my fair share of back and shoulder issues and one MRI will easily pay for three of these.

@lukebrutal78 Definitely try out the embody if you have the itch but I returned mine after the 1 month trial. So it's not for everyone. The seat was really uncomfortable for me and set my left glute on fire and sciatica down my leg with less than an hr of sitting. Hoped it would break in but after a month I couldn't keep a chair at that price point that caused me issues with less than an hr sitting. I just ordered the haworth fern to try. If that doesn't work then the crandall leap is next

Man... I started with a Leap, then over the years I either bought or tried all major chairs from HM, Haworth and Steelcase. I came back to the Leap realizing I had the true unicorn chair all along. The only one that comes slightly close to the Leap's lumbar support is the HM Mirra 2 imo.

@@lukebrutal78 100%! Nothing beats that live back. I can say that the Mirra 2 isn’t quite as aggressive in the lumbar but has a back that suits taller people with broad shoulders. Saw a 6’ 3” guy say it’s been his daily driver for 3 years. For me it’s basically my “summer Leap”

For anyone that doesn't own one yet. The leap v2 required you to buy some seat padding or your butt will be super numb as a result if the very poor sliding seat design that doesn't allow recline cant tilting.
@lukebrutal78
@lukebrutal78 4 ай бұрын
As someone who has sat in many a chair, and this particular one for almost a year now, I would have to disagree. I have no extra padding and I do not experience "numbing" at all. I have marathon game sessions, 10,12,14 hours some days. I get up every hour or so like a human should. Hell, I don't even use the lumbar support! I do use a footrest from a third party. I was on a work sabbatical for the las t couple weeks and I was in this chair 8-10 hours daily for those 2 weeks straight. I am also 6'1 and back up to 260 pounds, so I feel a qualified judge on such matters. Overall though, this chair has been awesome. I bought mine, it's an over priced honest unpaid testimonial. I do appreciate your feedback though, how long have you been in your Leap v2? Perhaps I am prematurely pleased.
