I did it! I finally upgraded my chair. After looking for months, I settled on the Leap V2 and the Herman Miller Embody. Premium Chairs like the Leap V2 and the Herman Miller Embody can be VERY expensive. Lucky for you, I already did the research and I’m sharing what I’ve learned in this video. I also wanted to share the pros/cons of both chairs so hopefully you can make a better decision.
Let me know in the comments below, which one you prefer. The Leap V2 or the Herman Miller Embody?
Disclaimers: I am not an expert chair reviewer. I am simply sharing my experience with both chairs. Which, admittedly, is very limited.
Also, I looked into buying from FB Marketplace and other similar platforms, but I wanted to have peace of mind. If it's truly something I would use for years to come, I didn't want to settle.

The Herman miller chairs come with a 12 year warranty. So basically you’re paying $125 a year for a warranty that covers everything. To me that’s worth it. And the benefits of an ergonomic chair are even better.

Same here, I got my Embody from my local HM dealer for 400 less than the HM online price. They also had fabric samples so I saw and felt live the options I had for fabrics. They had also better understanding of the lead time than the HM website. I was lucky they were getting a new chair for the show room so I got that one, so no waiting time for me! And as a side effect, is that I get to meet the people that can repair it or process warranties or issues I may have in the future with the chair. So far I had the Embody for 8 months and quite happy with it!

Really great video! I have both leap V2 and HM Embody as well and agree with lots of your points. Personally I like the embody more because of the flexible back, the superb back support, and it feels less stuffy than the leap V2. If there is anything I like the Leap V2 over the Embody, then that would be the arms. I sometime like to pivot the arms backwards or diagonal depending on what I am doing. The embody arms is... well, for the price point could definitely do a lot better. Once atlas comes out with the headrest for the embody it will be the end game chair. Now given the after market price point I would definitely pay that extra for the Embody as I could sit long hours on it. The leap can be a bit tight at times, but it's miles ahead of the previous chairs I own.

What do you think about using recliners for setups? Office and gaming chairs don't feel good. Doesn't matter the value and build quality.

Leap v2 has WAY more adjustments, you don't get lumbar support with the Embody which is huge for some, the arm rest like you've mentioned is also huge. I think your review is bias towards the asthestic and it's a bit misleading.
@JonImperial
@JonImperial 8 ай бұрын
Adjustments does not necessarily equal comfort. I am not bias at all. The embody felt more comfortable to me.. that’s all. This was a year or two ago and I still feel the same way. I wonder if a non-remanufactured Leap would feel any different. 🤔

The Embody offers amazing lumbar support. Talk about misleading. And his issues with the armrests are due to him doing something wrong.

I will say I've heard the headreest for the leap is very poor. It looks like it pushes your head too far forward, and there's no adjustability on it.
@Tephnos
@Tephnos 11 ай бұрын
@@theNecksLevel That's actually preferable. If you're sitting upright when tasking properly then your head should be proud of the headrest, your shoulders should not touch the backrest. Then when reclining it will keep your head elevated to properly look at your screen.

Awesome video and great coverage of the products. If you are watching this video please stop sitting on your crap chair and invest in HM, Steelcase, Haworth, etc. Your back will thank you! I do have a couple points to follow up on: while I prefer the embody over the leap (unless gaming) -- I want to clarify that the Leap has more adjustments than the embody while you state the opposite. The embody has one adjustment knob "back fit" and it does not allow you to to change the lumbar specifically. Instead you have to adjust the whole back at once and hope that the amount of lumbar you receive is in line with your preference for the amount of upper back support. The leap lets you position the lumbar specifically as well as adjust the firmness of the lumbar. The leap also has 4 way adjustable arms compared to just width adjustable on the embody. The 4 way adjustable arms will also slide inwards and outwards which means they are width adjustable which you state against in the video. The embody is definitely a sexier chair and comes off has "higher quality" due to its wild components but generally speaking the leap will be easier to find a fit and suited for more people in my opinion. The Embody is a Sports car and the Leap is a Toyota 4runner.

I absolutely loved your review. It was quite informative. However, as a gamer, I tend to cross my legs, kick one leg under the other, or kick my heels all the way up to my butt to where there are on the seat as well at times. My question is it possible to do these things without losing comfort or lack of space? I would suggest showing this test in future videos as I am sure I am not the only one that sits this way, or alternates to these multiple positions throughout a session. Thanks again for the awesome review!

Got the chair in. It is quite more comfortable than I expected. I can cross and pretzel my legs which is a must for my gaming sessions. My only con so far is I do not see a way to lock the back laying down. Just the 5 lock stoppers for leaning back, not actually locking positions which sucks. Otherwise a solid upgrade for me from a old $140 no name leather chair. I do have to warn people with any type of hips problems to avoid this chair. Less than an hour into my session both my hips were in terrible pain. I really struggled to sleep afterwards. Awesome chair. Just not for hip people.

The spine design looks like it's trying too hard to be "epic"? Doesn't quite match Jon's more subtle and sophisticated looking dark setups imo.

You're not sponsored by them but your entire video is a sloppy wet love kiss to this crandall company. Let me quote you: I had the pleasure of meeting and working with David Crandall. I love their company. I think they're doing the right thing. I love what they stand for." You then literally do a marketing insert for their company (after they gave you a free chair), and then you're all like: don't worry guys, you can trust me to be objective and unbiased here. Lol. Yeah. Right. You used the word "Love" in terms of describing your feelings about this company more than people say it to their significant others in a day. Why the hell would anyone believe that you're not absolutely interested in pleasing this company and forming a profitable or valuable relationship with them? This whole thing is ridiculous. Stop being a shill and just do reviews. Or no one is going to trust a word you say. And why should they?

Here we go..🤦🏽‍♂️Ok.. bro.. If you keep looking for something you want to see, even if it’s not there, you’ll find it. I don’t think you know how things like this work. Let me educate you a bit. 1.) “Sponsored” means they have control of the video (ie. whatever I say, show, etc.). They had no input whatsoever in this video. I seriously had a good experience with it, “love” the sustainability aspect of what they do. I love the service so that’s what I’m going to say in the video. I don’t care if you believe it or not. I’m not making a personal video for you. 2.) There are no affiliate links, commissions or anything in my links. What do you think I would get? Another chair? I’m not collecting chairs here. Since you’re the expert, maybe you can give me an advice here. 3.) Believe it or not, there are a ton of products sent/offered to me that I either sent back or said no to because I didn’t like something about it. If I took all the products/money offered to me I’d make more money than being selective. 4.) I am doing more than just a chair review. I am reviewing a service and also sharing how people can get these chairs for less. You seem to confuse those 2. There are overlaps but it’s not entirely the same. It’s a Steelcase chair remanufactured by Crandall. Next time you comment, just actually know what you are talking about because you sound ignorant. Thanks for the engagement! 👊🏾
