Created the Kashmir issue 5. Presided over the disastrous Sino-Bharat war 6. Refusal To Enter Nuclear Deal 7. Nehru rejected a US offer of helping Bharat with the development of a nuclear device in 1964 perhaps because he was a proponent of non-violence. 8. Led the ill-conceived Non-Aligned Movement 9. Indifference towards Goa 10. Favoured Socialism instead of free-market Capitalism. 11. Ignored Corruption 12. Clung to Power for too long 13. Curbed journalistic freedom and freedom of expression 14. Failure to encourage, promote and implement universal primary education 15. Toppled democratically elected Kerala government in 1957 16. Gifted Pakistan 17. Didn't allow Sardar Patel to be the PM 18. Gifting Manipur's Kabo valley to Burma 19. Gifting the strategically located Coco Islands to Burma 20. Refusing the Sultan of Oman's gift of Gwadar port 21. Giving up on Tibet, placing Bharat's water security and northern border at China's mercy 22. Signing the most unequal treaty in history in 1960, PM Nehru, for the sake of "friendship" and "goodwill" signed one of the most unequal, lopsided treaties ever - the Indus Waters Treaty, giving Pakistan ownership of over three-fourths of the water that flows through the Indus System of Rivers located in Bharat. Pakistan reciprocated Nehru's gesture of goodwill by invading Bharat just five years later. 23. Hostility towards Sardar Patel's restoration of the Somnath Temple 24. Obstructing Sardar Patel's plan to liberate Hyderabad from the murderous Nizam 25. Nehru had a total impractical approach to integrating Kashmir with rest of Bharat. He didn't allow Sardar Patel to deal with Kashmir issue. Patel was quite successful in integrating other troubled regions such as Hyderabad Nizam's province with Bharat. 26. During the Bharat-Pak war of 1948 when Bharat was gaining back the Kashmir captured by the invaders, he prematurely went to the UN Security Council. This was a great strategic mistake. Bharat now wants to distance itself from 3rd party intervention in the dispute and the UN resolutions on this, but it is Nehru who did it in the first place. 27. Moreover, We were winning the war against CHlN but Nehru didn't allow Bhartiya Air Force to participate and we lost Aksai Chin area 28. No Initiative on Sri Lankan Tamil Problem 29. Gandhi was a kaala angrez and his loyalty was towards the british throne. He deliberately delayed the independence of Bharat / India. This idiot was recruiting soldiers to fight for the britishers and at the same time he was preaching non-violence nonsense to Hindus. He is responsible for the death of millions of Hindus with his non-violence nonsense. He was a hard core muslim appeaser and was always protecting them. He allowed the creation of Pakistan and Bangladesh and begged g-hadis not to leave for Pakistan. Gandhi made sure that the policies of the british were continued through Nehru. Hindus are still paying the price for that.

Only Punjab and Bengal were partitioned not entire country. One of the major reason for partition was to weaken Punjab and Bengal. A united Bengal and Punjab, would make united India's political landscape look very different. This view has also been echoed by renowned Pakistani historian Ayesha Jalal.
@JawwadHussain-vp5fp2 ай бұрын
You shouldn't believe anything Ayesha Jalal says she in his book Jinnah the Sole Spokesman mentioned that Jinnah never wanted partition rather power sharing with Congress and Pakistan was a bargaining chip and that's a lie because Dr.Ishtiaq Ahmed in his book Jinnah: His Successes, Failures and Role in History gives Jinnah's own statements demanding partition to refuse Ayesha Jalal's view which isn't backed up by any evidence.

After unlearning India's modern history from my school textbooks and learning it afresh from unbiased historians in recent years, I realized that Mohandas Gandhi was relocated from South Africa to India by the British to serve their interests in India. Remember that India was the British empire's "crown jewel" and one deploys one's best commander in the toughest / most important battle. Everything that Gandhi did after his return to India since around 1917-18 points to his being a covert British agent not a 'freedom fighter' that crony historians on Congress' payroll like Romila Thapar / Irfan Habib or Gandhi family hagiographers like Ram Guha would like us to believe. I wish the BJP Govt had got our history textbooks reviewed and rewritten since 2014 to give an unbiased perspective on India's history of the past couple of centuries at least. Instead of condemning Gandhi's role in India's freedom movement, he's become an exalted figure beyond reproach and deified by historians of all hues. Even Indian politicians and foreign dignitaries pay tributes at Rajghat instead of wiping out his presence from our amidst. Besides, Gandhi single-handedly turned Hindus into wimps by urging them to willingly get killed / r@ped / ruined by Muslims (Moplah pogrom of 1920s, or Naokhali riots or Direct Action Day in Bengal) in the name of "non violence". He was a hypocrite to the core, as he exhorted Indians to enrol into the British Indian Army during WW-I & again in WW-II to fight FOR THE BRITISH, while he always opposed Indian revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh / Aurobindo even Subhash Chandra Bose, who all knew that freedom will only be achieved through armed struggle. I feel ashamed as an Indian that Govt of India & most Indians still revere Gandhi who caused enormous harm to India along with his protege Jawaharlal Nehru.
@_icnivad63832 ай бұрын
Unlike the popular portrayal of him as a divisive figure, Jinnah was initially a staunch advocate of Hindu-Muslim unity. His vision for a united India was one where all religious communities could coexist as equal partners. In fact, Jinnah was affectionately referred to as the “ambassador of Hindu-Muslim unity” for his tireless efforts to bridge communal divides. At that time, the British were deeply alarmed by Jinnah’s influence. Here was a charismatic, principled leader who was uniting the masses across religious lines, threatening the very foundation of the British strategy of “divide and rule.” If Jinnah’s vision came to fruition, the British knew that they would be facing an unstoppable force demanding independence. By promoting Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence and passive resistance, the British were able to divert the Indian masses away from the more assertive, unifying demands of leaders like Jinnah. While Gandhi’s message of non-violence was lauded by the British press, it conveniently ensured that the movement would never gain the militant edge required to truly challenge colonial rule. The British had witnessed the impact of armed resistance in Ireland, and they were determined to avoid a similar scenario in India. Moreover, Gandhi’s insistence on incorporating religious symbolism and Hindu-centric practices into the Indian National Congress’s activities alienated Muslim leaders and followers who had previously stood shoulder to shoulder with their Hindu brethren. Jinnah, a secularist at heart, was increasingly sidelined as Gandhi pushed for a version of nationalism steeped in religious rhetoric, effectively alienating Muslims who had been part of the independence movement. In the end, the British left India not because they were defeated by Gandhi’s non-violent resistance, but because they had achieved their objective: a fractured subcontinent that would be too consumed by internal strife to pose any threat to British interests in the region. To this day, the narrative of Gandhi as the undisputed hero of India’s independence struggle remains dominant, while Jinnah is unfairly vilified as the architect of division. But history, as we know, is written by the victors - or, in this case, by those who control the narrative. The real story, hidden behind layers of propaganda and historical revisionism, suggests that Gandhi was, in fact, a pawn in a much larger game, manipulated by the British to maintain control over India’s destiny even as they appeared to relinquish it.

Excellent podcast. Abhijit Chavda is a genius and he articulates his points very well. If Mr Gandhi was a British agent as one can infer from this discussion, it is not understood why he continued to be euologized by the current government? Is it because he was the only hero who can be projected as our freedom winner. What Mr Chavda mentioned about Mr Gandhi seems accurate as there was no reason for the British to import him from SA and project him to be the leader of our freedom movement. Gandhi was extremely popular and an appeal from him to the Indians serving the British empire in India would have finished the British rule on the same day. Why he appealed to the people of India for non cooperation which he could have made to the Indians working as a policeman, or in armed forces to drive away the invaders who had illegally occupied the land. Gandhi and Nehru did the maximum damage to the country and foolishly we are celebrating them - one as the father of the country and the other as father of modern India - who was responsible for family politics in the country.

Just to clarify 14:03 the british never left "israel" because there was no such thing. They left Palestine and created a buffer terror state known as israel there.

I think a lot about this : RBI should change the image of Gandhi from note and put something that shows India's 4000 years old history, which encourages the people to about the rich history of india!!

Bring more intellectual speakers and have more deep discussions on history and current affairs. This is something which is not your domain or nobody expects from you, but believe me people love it.

Indian and Pakistan issue a "Quintessential white elephant"?? Why do people think using big words together (with wrong grammar in this case) makes them look more important and intelligent 😂😂 Love how Abhijeet dismantles him and has the "just keep quiet and let me talk substance" vibes
@actorvishalmalhotra2 ай бұрын
Hmm… missed that, but let me check and see where the “dismantle” occurred and Ofcourse how I can learn and improve the “grammar” the next time. Always good to keep learning.

Our most of the oldest regiment and commands of Army are from British too. It doesn't mean we serve British. In that era, if people from this comment section was there. They would not be saying all these things. So easy to sit back at homes and type on keyboards right?
