@iGoBart
@iGoBart 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, shyness is definitely part of the stereotype. But it has something inherently good. I like the idea of "thinking about the other person's feeling too". We (the Dutch) can be very direct and sometimes hurt somebody else's feelings without intention. I think we should find a middle way. Not too shy and not too direct. But overall, being honest is too me most important. Other people can only improve or learn if they receive honesty in my believe. But it's about the way we tell the honesty to the other person. Personally I like to receive honesty from other people, because only then I know what the relationship is about between me and the other person. Otherwise it's too unclear and I have many questions. Hopefully this makes sense? Sorry for replying in English, I can express myself better! Thank you for watching!

I really enjoyed learning that the dutch and german jokes around. Its like Canadians and Americans. If canadians hear a foreigner say "we want to go to America" or "we love America" for us it simply mean they love the united states and we call the US " the states". I saw in ur video Anne's dad wearing an habs hat its an Montreal Canadian hockey team.😉

Interesting, just travelled the whole day on autobahn and I could count at least 10 times when a small Hans german little car jumped on the left lane to overcome a lorry, forcing me to slamm on the brakes from 150 to 100. This is just insane. I am not Dutch, I'm Italian living in the NL and I know Italian really do suck at driving and respecting the rule but this was a big disappointment for me to see. Dutch drive much better than Germans for what I've seen. Dutch are often criticised for tailgating but this is a natural condition because in NL the highways are always full of traffic so people are used to keep a distance which is reduced, on top of that the behaviour of drivers is very disciplinated so its difficult that something unpredictable happens.

Nice video. Beautiful shots of the city and clouds. Really made Seoul look like an attractive place. Though that was weighed down by the lack of quality in the interview segment. Not sure what happened but it seems as though you used a totally different camera and mic than usual. Ironically during that segment you were talking about being direct. I think when your friend says your videos are boring, it would be better and more accurate for him to say that they don't interest him in particular... Because there is an audience for ANYTHING. Literally anything you can think of. Don't worry about that. You have a good product that can be improved, I think the weak point is the camera quality/audio at this point and only during certain segments. Other parts look good and pretty polished. It was a good decision to up the opacity on the black behind the subtitles I think, but also having two language subtitles might be a bit much. Just having the Korean might look better aesthetically... Since the English is easy to understand for the entire video. Cheers! Keep posting. I'm brainstorming ideas for you as well as me (I would like to make some more videos for my family to see).

Thank Elias. Also for the feedback. It was the same camera and the mic on the camera as the conversation was very spontaneous at the time I had to improvise. I feel the quality of this camera is going down. Time to buy a new one! I am hesitating though, it's a big investment (mirror less camera with better mic) and KZbin doesn't earn enough for me to buy easily :(. I know I get something in return on the longer run, but stil... As for the double subtitles, I started doing that because it was requested by several Koreans. Maybe I will use the KZbin function for future videos. Also I knew the audio was hard to understand at some point so I thought English subs were a good solution. But I get it, it's distracting. Even for me. If you have any ideas let me know, always open for new ideas. These days Im thinking a lot about the direction of this channel: what people want to see? and how to improve my videos? I also want to put more of my passions into the video. Anyway a lot to say! As always thank you for your comment. What kind of videos are you making?
@eliasorbon450
@eliasorbon450 5 жыл бұрын
@@iGoBart I think the most important thing is that people are always attracted to a person/channel that is honestly doing something they love to do. The content could literally be anything and as long as there is some passion behind it people will watch. Of course you are extremely young and brand new to creating videos and content so you are still learning to create a high standard of quality across all videos... But that's something every artist goes though. It takes years and years of hard work to be an "overnight" success! ;) For me, I'm doing 8 hour classes in Korean on Sundays and working overtime 50 hours a week (Including Saturdays). Apart from that I don't have much time... But it's paying off. You don't have to buy super expensive gear for sure. There are a lot of great budget friendly options that will give you more flexibility in filming. It really just depends on where you want to take your channel, because obviously you're the one who will be doing the footwork.
@eliasorbon450

@@iGoBart As for the subtitles... I'll go a little deep here because I studied music for years and a lot of the ideas relate to all fields of art. Prosody, an idea coined by Aristotle, states that every part of the existence of a piece of art should be in harmony with it's surroundings to create that story. That's why things can seem a little "distracting" or a little "low quality" when those things would otherwise be completely acceptable in different projects. The optimal piece of art you have to share with the world kind of already exists and is right there in front of you, it's just up to you to bend the reality around yourself to output the more pure expression of you, your life, and your message. Without the idea "it's not good enough" nothing can be great. You could do loads of things depending on your level of passion for the project. Different things work in different ways. Some stories about Japanese villages populated by dolls garner millions of views because curiosity about that story and the future... Also your North Korea videos are in perfect prosody for the current time... Obviously that's not a format you can rely on now to make KZbin a career but it gave you a great start for the channel. As of videos I would make? Probably minecraft/longform chats/nothingness if that makes sense. It's what I'm into these days. You should start with having a confident lifestyle that you love, and then you share that lifestyle with others through video in interesting ways.

@@eliasorbon450 Yes I want to buy a new camera before The Netherlands. Good thing is, that already making videos is becoming a passion for me. Going to The Netherlands will show people where I'm from and maybe they can get to know me better too. I also see some improvements in my Korean. I study a little every day and go to classes on Saturday at Seoul Global Center.

I think, northern, cold, dry, highlanders are more straightforward, honest, sincere, spiritual. On the opposite side, southern, hot, humid, lowlanders are more indirect, expressive, considerate, worldly. In south Korea, west side people(cheolla, chungcheong, southern kyeongki province) are more like southern people, east side people(kyeongsang, kangwon, northern kyeongki province) are more like northern people, i think. And most population of Asia lived in southern part. But European people lived more in northern area than Asian people. That makes differences, i think, as a people of kyeongsang province.

We Asians need to learn to respect each others countries like Europeans do. But sadly nationalism remains very high in Asian and we try to foster hate towards neighboring countries to pander to nationalistic sentiment. You don't need to hate other country to prove you love your own country, and rivalry between countries should not mean hatred.
